If you have compressed air handy take a blow gun with an extension on it and blast around the area the key fell into. Often when you drop something like this the compressed air trick will loosen it up and give it's presence away.
Whoa, I’m thinking I don’t wanna know  what’s next if it gets worse!I think you're right about that. First the hair, now the memory.
You don't know the whole story, I haven't even hit 40 yet!Whoa, I’m thinking I don’t wanna know  what’s next if it gets worse!I think you're right about that. First the hair, now the memory.

There is a whole thread devoted to this topic, somewhere. Lots of wise advice had been given on how to pick up an FJR. No-one said anything about keys but........Try picking the bike up and shaking it...preferably upside down...
Dammit Mike, you're right (again) about the keys being brass, Maybe He has some type of keychain that's metal. My help lately has been like walking backwards.Sitting on top of one of the horns? On top of the radiator? I agree with the magnet trick....assuming the keys are not brass.
When you get that compartment open, remove the panel I mentioned earlier and remove the solenoid you will find underneath. Then you can open the glove compartment without having the key.I will pull the tank last. I can see a good ways in there and I don't think the key and key ring would fit any further than where I can see. Remember, this is my first bike. Pulling this stuff off is making me vewy nervous... I'm searching for a way to open the locked box w/out breaking it. The spare key is in there...

The tank is easy. Those two bolts at the front, loosen but don't remove the one at the rear, and it just pivots up. And there's a long ways the keys can go if they get under that first crevasse.I will pull the tank last. Yep, what he said. Easy! I just lifted my tank for the first time last weekend and there was nothing to it.The tank is easy. That really is you in your avatar, isn't it?Get a third key to get your second key out (which you probably shouldn't have locked in a place that you need the first key to get at it), then take your second key and drop it the same way you did your first key. Watch where it goes. Then don't drop your third key there.Done.
