I'm just teasing, anyhow. I just have an issue with elitist/better than thou type attitudes. (& I'm not talking about you)
I'm really looking forward to this meet. Have you ridden in this area before? Awesome riding!!! I'm gonna look into that Moonshiners run.
I always say ride what you want, like what you got. I'm a brand "outcast" now however, but I still do the exact same as I did before. It's all about the fun factor and the people you have it with. We had a lot of fun at dinner w you at SEO, I think my gut was aching the next day from all the laughing.

EOM should be a great time, and a closer for me being at the end of my up North season. I see Geezer commented on that Moonshiners Run. Heck, I'm easy... count me in!

Are you talking about the Moonshine Lunch Run in Casey, IL?

From the EOM 2013 web site:

Moonshiner 28

Legend says that highway 28 has history as a moonshine run with the revenuers in hot persuit. It's likely they had a good time chasing around because the twisties are epic on this must do motorcyce road. The route picks up 28 near Walahalla SC, takes in a small slice of GA then continues on through NC until the end of 28 at Deals Gap, the base of The Dragon, TN-129. The route roads taking you to and from 28 have plenty going for them as well.

Nice looking Moonshiner route. Say, when we finish this route, we need to line up some of my Junior Johnson Moonshine (if I have any left by then!). I may need to obtain a plastic mason jar for transfer :)

I reserved Friday night through Monday morning. Then I noticed on the 2013 web site that the popular rally arrival was Thursday last year. So, are people planning to arrive on Thursday this year?

I'm coming Thursday, riding Friday and Saturday, and heading home Sunday. That seems to have been the "classic" schedule though some folks extended that to leave on Monday to get the extra day of riding on Sunday.

OK, thanks for the replies. I'll add Thursday night to my room reservation.

Also arriving Thursday and leaving Sunday. It seemed to be the most popular days.

We will be there Thursday through Monday. May have to get together with those that are staying Sunday night to do something interesting on Sunday. I hope to be there early enough Thursday to take Janet to Wheels Through Time. If I don't then we may hit that Sunday morning.

I decided not to stay over Sunday night. I'll take a nice two day ride to get home. I'll probably be riding down with Paul (Thingfish) and he loves 219 in WV, so that will likely be on the route.

Maybe stop over in Lewisburg or Elkins Sunday night.

Yep, same, we will fly home Sunday to get the Boss to work on time Monday.

Brenda and I will arrive Wednesday night.....probably check out on Monday.

219 through WV is a pretty damn fine road. I've done it end for end (NY to Princeton) a bunch of times. But 219 through PA just takes forever. Lots of small towns.

Yes. We normally slab it south through PA on I81. It is miserable, but I haven't found a better way to get through there. There are ways to do it without using the slab, but there are a lot of lights and traffic.

On the other hand, 219 runs into Virginia, and that stretch in VA is pretty good.
