Then what was the purpose of the poll?
To piss you off!

Not pissed off but when Lewisburg had as many votes as

the next thee locations combined, Wytheville comes as a

bit of a surprise. JS

The purpose of the poll was to generate discussion on location. Venue availability is the real deciding factor, among other things.

Yes, Lewisburg has the most votes in this poll. However, there has been a lot of conversation regarding Virginia every time the EOM location discussion starts, and in the 7 pages of this thread, it's there again.

I will have more details tomorrow to post. Right now, one major plus for Wytheville is that the hotel has quoted $59/night per double occupancy room for the event, including any days a guest of the rally stays before or after the main dates. That is something Lewisburg would not do, and their rates will be $79 or higher. In my book, a hotel that would be $60 cheaper for a 3 night stay is a significant player when the location checks all the base requirement boxes. Add to that the fact that Wytheville is only 97 miles southeast of Lewisburg, it means that the roads one might want to hit around Lewisburg are still within range.

More to follow.

That's a Damn good explanation, Wayne. That means Tyler and I can finally hit grandma's place for lunch and pie. Niehart will love the picture. I'm in!!! :)

I can't wait for more details Wayne. I would defiantly like to squeeze this one in come September. I guess a guy will have to travel without a good friend as Virginia just made themselves a little less visitor friendly today.

Now that they have informed the other states of the changes in the law how are they going to inform the criminals who created the problem. Are all politicians morons? To remain politically correct should be criminal.

As much as I am interested in guns and the right to carry, let's please not bring any political discussion into this thread. EOM is too important to many of us to let the thread devolve into a discussion that is totally unrelated and increasingly political.

Absolutely geezer, I am in no way intending to start that debate here. It was strictly put out for personal information since it is a new change.

Cheap is good! Especially when it doesn't impact the quality of the ride, and gives us something new to explore. Well done Wayne!

I'd like to visit Lewisburg again, but it doesn't have to be this upcoming EOM. As long as there are 2 lane mountain roads, food, craft beer, and the great people of this forum... I'll be happy.

I'm still ***-u-me-ing it's the last full weekend in Sept. 🙄

I didn't even vote for Virginia but I'm always going to chime in that Wytheville is a fantastic spot. Convergence of two major highways, great rides start just minutes away, plenty of curvy roads for us who demand them, and many scenic not-so-curvy roads for the folks who want to keep the bottoms of their peg feelers smooth and shiny. Plenty of dirt and gravel, too. Lewisburg and Shady Valley are in reasonable range and you can get further out if you really want to.

If the venue is cutting us a better deal than other places then that makes it even better.

This is very much appreciated Wayne, now that the Canuck buck has sunk so low to the USD. Right now, I would have to pay $1.45 CAD for one of your greenbacks.

The area around Wytheville has just about the best motorcycle roads to be found, anywhere.

At this point, with 22 votes, Lewisburg has 59% of the vote...
Sad... so many roads... so little time. My reasoning for not wanting to go back to Lewisburg is selfish. That is my normal riding area. Also, I know firsthand how good the roads are in Western VA... but not my normal riding area. That's my vote. If it ends up being Lewisburg once again, I won't complain.... but so many roads... so little time.

Don't be a ****.
:D :D

I am hoping that someone can save me 7 pages of reading to figure out when, where, what accommodations, and how much. Will there be another thread, or perhaps the 1st post will be edited with the information?

I'm new here, and would like to attend. September is great - it does not conflict with my Suzuki meet in June. :D

Thank you!
