upscale buffet for me

"if it smells like fish don't eat it" so I would vote for chicken instead (or as said before if it once walked an bled it would be okay)

Cheeeekin or Feeeesh, OR Cheeeekin or Beeeef.

Either of the two choice groups works for me.

Slap, I'm sure you guys are working your behinds off on all the details and arrangements. Don't sweat it. Just do what you think is best and if it doesn't work out, well... we'll just go ride some more!

:D

+1 on the plated dinner, but I'm sure we will find something to eat from what ever menu is picked. Would be nice if there is a non -meat selection as my wife and I are vegitarians.

I'm leaning towards the plated dinner because everyone says either that or the buffet. If you're hungry enough, get two plates, same price as the buffet, but everyone else comes in at 1/2 the price.

Any final discussions about dish choices before I send out the final email asking for choice?

Also, please note if you have not sent in a registration email from the EOM Website then you're not in the FINAL dinner count yet. Everyone that's registered should be reflected in the Attendee's List. There's an edited by date to see when I added the last entries.

Chicken or beef for my 2...

plated dinner it is. Will send out an email this week asking for final choices from the two options.

Greetings all,
This here is Slapnpop's faithful pillon, or however it's spelled. (Hi Luvtoride! When are you coming to visit again?)

I had considered making my signature line something to the effect of

"I know we just went 100+mph. It was fast. I don't need to know exactly how fast!"

I think it says something when it takes a post about dinner to finally get me onboard. I ramble when I finally do have something to say, so bear with... Slapnpop has already heard my general bitching on the situation.

Hot dogs/hamburger or spaghetti buffet is laughable, imho.

Plated dinner would be okay with me, as would the upscale buffet. With a plate, you know what you're getting and roughly how much. For a little bit more money, you can have two different types of food and more of it if you so choose, but if you're like me, you'd most likely only end up eating one choice anyway.

My biggest issue with either the plate or upscale buffet is that there will only be two choices for the entire group, hence I have finally joined the forum.

I require protein (do eat complex carbs, preferablly whole grain) but do not eat beef, ham, or fried food if I can help it. So I would like baked or grilled catfish or the herb chicken. The manicotti dish is the only of the non-beef pastas that come anywhere close to having enough protein.

I'm thinking with the person who said that chicken, roast beef, or ham might be easier to agree on that there is a good point. If I had to choose only one of my preferred meals, it would be the chicken, even though I bet the catfish would be tastier! Just cause probably more people would want chicken than catfish?

So, that's my intro and those are my thoughts on dinner. Looking forward to meeting folks in September.
Hey Maureen!,

I missed this post. Was just skimming thru to look at the dinner options & saw your post. I agree w/ your food picks EXCEPT catfish. Gosh, I hope they don't pick catfish! My first choice will be the herb baked chicken, also. The roast beef... bet it'll be the pre-sliced kind that has a luminescent finish to it. Ya' ever see the type?

Anyhow, I think that there should be one meat dish & one non-meat dish. Most likely there will be a non-meat eater or two there. The pastas look good. I'd be inclined to choose one of those.

So, will see you next month Maureen. I'm really looking forward to this event,

Heidi

Our vote is for plated dinner (2) for Catfish. I hope I've signed Jim and I up. I may have signed us up twice. Just want to be sure you count us in. We can't wait to see you all again and meet some new faces as well.
