Feel free to compensate for my inadequacy. I tried to post the video, but can't figure out how to do it.

This is a news story about self driving cars in Pittsburgh, featuring one of our beloved forum members. He has promised me he won't forget the little people, now that he's famous.

Can you guess who it is?

Here's a hint:

He rides an FJR. And he's from Pittsburgh.

FJR. In Pittsburgh.

FJR. Pittsburgh.

Man - that is incredible. Who would have thought that Buck Rodgers and George Jetson were visionaries?

Congrats to the aforementioned unnamed forum member!!

Thanks for posting this Jon. My new job of testing the autonomous vehicles here in Pittsburgh is really amazing. We recently had a Media Day to inform the public of our progress. The video is one that was produced for one of the local TV news stations with me driving. I have to say that I'm amazed by the technology. As you can see in snippets in the video, I get to pilot the self-driving cars while test driving on the road. Really cool. I have to say, I was never a believer in autonomous driving in the public domain. However, after testing these vehicles week after week, I'm astonished by the improvements.

Of course, we aren't ready to have our cars drive fully autonomously (without any driver in the vehicle) yet. I say yet because it will happen. Riders I've had with me in the vehicle say that it drives better than most people. The only negative to this job is the hours I put in. It's put a huge damper on my FJR riding. EOM is not possible due to my work schedule. I'm sure I'll be able to take some time off in the future to attend some of our events. At least my work is something that's rewarding and interesting.

Jon asked me not to forget about the little people due to my stardom. I told him little people never forget about the little people.

Jeff, just program one of those things to run you down to Wytheville next weekend...how hard can it be to hack one?
