I'm all for having the list as a POI and don't mind if my name, address, phone is included. Most of it is public information anyway.

1) 10-4! Assistance info as close as your gps would be great.2) Yah, shoor, ubetcha.

3) Unlike the current list directly mailed to folks the POI file should only include city/town and contact info/phone number without the direct address.

I'm all for it as well.

Although I am all for this, the issue would seem to be making sure that everyone on the list is for it. Adding someone to the POI list without their consent would be bad form. To be safe I think there should be a separate sign up for the POI list.

given that the list is pushing 400 names it might be easier if I sent an email to everyone telling them there will be a POI list and if they do not want to be on it they should let me know.

Maybe the other way around? Asking people to Opt-In, is always much better than asking them to Opt-Out.

(I'm in by the way).

Thanks. I like that.

Thanks for doing that, sounds like someone is going to have a full inbox! :clapping:

That's one helluva skippy idea! :) I keep the assistance list in my Palm pilot which usually travels with me, but as pointed out at the beginning of this thread, if you're not familiar with the area........

If I'm traveling, so is my Garmin. Count me in!

I don't want 300 people emailing saying 'I'm in'. I would rather have 50 saying 'I'm not in'.

So, just so we're clear, if they miss this thread and/or your email you'll include them anyway...

This includes those who might be oh, say out of town at the time, or incapacitated and not checking email like, oh, maybe IndianaTom? (who is currently on the list) Nice...

If'n I was was you... I'd put up a simple web form for the Opt-In/Opt-Out and avoid the whole going through email thing altogether, then you could filter your current excel spreadsheet based up on the results, and people could change their minds.

Forum Name: Renegade

Keep Me in the Spreadsheet: [Yes]

I'd like to be included in the POI database too: [YES]

Obviously people submitting new entries would declare at that time.

(If you want help with this just ask).

1) Do you even WANT the directory available as a POI?

A) Yes

2) Do you want to be included on it?

B - Yes

3) Would you rather have your full address published, or, just a your contact phone number?

C) Contact phone number only please. You can list my near-by town, Dallas, but no closer please.

+1

I think this has to be opt in.

Or at a minimum, everyone be grateful to gypsy for the work he has done (and continues to do) for the rest of us. That **** can't be fun to keep track of. I appreciate it. Thanks for your hard work on this. I'll continue to subscribe to your FJR Assistance List as long as you are willing to provide it. How you do that and what you include on it is up to you. Your show, run it as you see fit.
