Or at a minimum, everyone be grateful to gypsy for the work he has done (and continues to do) for the rest of us. That **** can't be fun to keep track of. I appreciate it. Thanks for your hard work on this. I'll continue to subscribe to your FJR Assistance List as long as you are willing to provide it. How you do that and what you include on it is up to you. Your show, run it as you see fit.
I think everyone here appreciates the work, but there is a concern that the POI list may not be what some people signed up for; we need to show them some respect also. After looking at the original thread I don't see any mention of how the list was to be distributed, well at least not on the first page anyways :) . So, I don't have that concern any longer; I would say opt out is the way to go.

I have no problem being on the POI list, count me in. A persons name, contact number and city should be enough info for anyone. If a person lives in a small town add the general area, if you have a GPS you should be able to figure it out.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but if the POI file doesn't include any more info than the PDF file, why should it be a problem?? The only difference is it allows you to figure out who's actually in reasonable proximity to where you be broke. No addresses, just a city location and contact info (same as the PDF). As far as having to "opt in", why make more work for Gypsy? I'm sure he gets nothing out of it besides a warm fuzzy for doing something cool for this forum. I say let 'er rip. I'm in.

I see no reason for opting in or out as long as you only list info provided by the subscriber.

Don't makes things any more complicated than they already are.

Well after reading the replies and the logic involved, I've converted the entire list over to GPX format. Its not showing any more information than the original list, only an additional distribution method. I've forwarded the converted file over to Gypsy for his approval. Only two people didn't make it over, simply because their location was sufficiently vague so that they couldn't be included.

Were going to have to include a disclaimer/warning about exporting the file to the GPS, simply because if you don't manage your POI's, it'll overwrite all your existing ones. Thats not a function of the POI, but in the way Garmin handles POI's themselves.

My copy works famously showing a little red first aid symbol with the word FJR through it for everybody on the list.
