Unfortunately, the Key West rider, Paul Meyer, isn't going to make it back in time along with a few others. :(

EDIT: From Al Greenwood via FB:

Epic failed IBR report

Well i guess if it could go wrong it did
BBG1500 on the way out was over by about an hour due to traffic. 22 hours left to go go another 600 or so miles to complete an SS200 at 1986 miles the fuel line clogged up killing that run.

Now on to the IBR

The start went off without a hitch but p near the end ofv the first take it started acting up p guess there was some dirt still in the łine, filed out with premium at 5.05 ģal and it ran fine after that.

Made it through my first 4 bonuses ok but put in the wrong coordinates for the 5th stop use N44 instead of N47 and ended up with a nice trip Yellowstone Park.

Finally made it to the correct bonusat 1 am just up the road i blew the rear tire. Out in middle of nowhere with on cell service. Slept beside the bike on the side of the road until about 5 when someone stopped and helped move the bike off the roadway and took me local store to wait for them to open. Roadside assistance took until 1230 to send someone out. Finally got the road and 4pm now a mad dash to the checkpoint with a couple bonuses on the way. Everdioptery thing looks great will pick up 3 of my remaining 5 and make checking by 7 pm with time to spare. Look one last time when i get closer to them and discover i forgot to put in the final destination so even if i skipped all 3 i would be over by an hour .oh well there is always 2023

Hi Phil!  B)

Seams Chicago traffic has caught up to the last two riders heading south. They can only sit there and watch

their ETA get ever closer to the penalty window. Been there, done that. Very frustrating.
Just spoke with a friend on their way back to Detroit and they have been stuck in Chicago for the past half hour in stopped traffic on the 294. Seems to have been a major wreck. Might have cost a rider the last of his time.

Of the last four riders through that area, the first was significantly slowed, second took a major detour and saved 30 -40 min, Maybe traffic on his phone?  third and fourth riders not so lucky. All made it through, but much closer than they had wished Im sure. LOL

Meanwhile, Chris Purney also went through Nevada and ran north to Oregon and Washington but lost his struggle to get through Wisconsin and Chicago (always a difficult task) in time.

I hate traffic. Standings and Day Five update are posted.

2021 Iron Butt Rally

The top 3 took some pretty different routes on the 2nd half of their 1st leg.

Though Wendy and Ken were on the same path.

I had a great tip from the doorman at the John Dillinger museum in 2003. I got there just as they were ready to lock up for the day. A guy was actually getting ready to when I walked up. He warned me I'd not have time to actually visit the place. I told him the bonus I was looking for (the newspaper article with his first crime). He knew it because of others there before me. He took me right to it (no entry fee). I snapped the photo (wrote the answers to the questions), was escorted out, and (as I was gearing up) mentioned I was heading to the Planetarium next. He told me to avoid The Loop (or ANY interstates) and take Lakeshore Drive up through Calumet City.

In the IBR - Day 5 report there is a mention of the Kodak House in Fargo, ND as a bonus site.  I did a search and can't find any information.  The most common search result pointed me to the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, NY.  Can anyone enlighten me as to what the Kodak House in Fargo is?

Everybody seems pretty bunched up given the time since leaving.  Lots of small bonii in a close area?

Where's the second checkpoint?
