That ride was awesome! Great meeting all you folks and we will definitely have to do it again. Yes the information is correct, my ignition failed for the second time somewhere in the backwoods of western Mass. I tried calling Fred (FRED W) and found out he was out shopping for another bike so I called George (COTA) seeing as he has had a couple of failures also but wasn't able to get him. Thanks to Jude (GYPSY) for his most awesome FJR Help List. Of course it was a Sunday and there wasn't any cell service but other than that everything was just ducky. I messed around with the wiring for awhile trying to get them into a position that they would continue to make contact but to no avail so I ended up doing the surgery on the harness. Of course, like an ass, I didn't bother to pack the requisite wire nuts and toggle switch so a couple of ball point pen caps had to work as wire nuts. Of course I had to take three ferries to get home and figured it might be a royal pain in the butt without a switch so I opted to get a hotel room for the night and get a switch in the morning. The hotel happened to be near a casino so that ended up costing me $200.00 more....definitely not a dull weekend.

If any of you guys need some new curse words to add to your vocabulary let me know because I invented a whole bunch of them on Sunday.

Wow, bad luck Chris! (Weren't we just talking about this very problem on Saturday?) Glad you were able to finally make it home safe.

Thanks Snikr for organizing the ride. I had a great time and was glad I could help with some suggestions in my neck of the woods.

It's nice to meet some the of "virtual" people on the forum in real life. It gives you a whole different perspective reading some of the posts when you actually know the person behind the Avatar.

Chris,

Glad to hear you made it home alright. I'm sorry to hear you had another ignition failure though. To bad you didn't head west with Harlan and I maybe we could have helped. Although you know how that goes. Even if you did ride to my place it wouldn't have failed until you were half way home, solo. Alans idea looks like a really good one, maybe it should be your next farkle.

Anyway, it was good to meet you and I'll see you at EOM.

Ride safe; Art

After Art told me he hoped I'd do this again next year I've ALREADY come up with a couple ideas. Watch here next year for info. In all likely hood it'll be a different route. But PM me with your ideas, I'm open to them. I'm already looking forward to it. B)

My thought is that we could expand this into a 2-day weekend extravaganza. We call it "Greens and Whites - Double Ecstasy".

We start at the same spot in Lebanon (the hotel was perfect for our needs, IMO) do a nice big curly figure CCW loop around one state and then a CCW loop around the other with an overnight 1/2 way through the trip at the intersection of the 8 in Lebanon. Folks could join in for the first half, the second half, or do the whole 8!

Man, I should'a been in marketing... ;)

:clapping: OH YEAH! Gunny! :clapping:

A 2 Day tour would make the 400 mile journey from Rochester NY really worth the stretch!

Fred - You Da Man - Next IPA is on me - although I recommend the Stout :drinks:

Fred,

You are da man. B) That sounds like an excellent idea. Maybe we can get Mt. Washington in da loop.

As far as drinks goes I'm still not sure. I'll just have to get another 6 shooter to decide. :D Although I did like the Quechee Cream Ale.

Harlan

When ever you're heading this way my door is always open for lunch and then another ride on N. Shore Rd.(to get the blood flowing again). :yahoo:

Hell ya. I've never done it on a bike before, lots of times in various cages, but I'm game.

I mean, if Ionbeam can keep Jeff Ashe on the narrow dirt road up ole' Washington, with my mad dirt bike'n skillz it'll be a breeze...

Maybe they'll block off the auto road for a few minutes for us so we can race to the summit??

Fastest time in a car is 6 mins 41.99 seconds.

There's be some serious power sliding going on. Picture an FJR in a full lock speedway slide.
