I found this to be kind of an interesting deal. I just installed new car horns on my 06 and today for the first time my ABS light started to flash. It did correspond to heavy usage of my new horns (playing with them while riding in no traffic). This supports the voltage drop theory.
new horns through a relay? or directly connected to the orig connectors?

As for the blinking ABS -- it comes from 'unstable' inputs to the ABS ECU. Although not mentioned in the '06 service manual, and purely speculation on my part -- I believe the blinking is caused by unstable wheel slip calculation, and I believe that the 'chassis speed' is the culprit -- I also believe it's calculated from the front, rear, and speedo inputs.

+1 on blinking -- ON/OFF should clear. +1 on light remains on -- defect, and ABS will not operate.

Check to see if your brake light is staying on when you abs light acts up. Mine did it too and i found that the rear brake light switch was stuck. Simple adjustment and never reoccured.
+1 on that...plus, lube your rear brake lever pivot point. Had that problem in minneapolis. Rear brake was dragging the switch.

I did not add a relay as I assumed it wasn't necessary. I have been wrong many times in the past and we all know that assuming makes an *** out of u and me :D

I also experience the flashing ABS light occaisonally. I've found that if I apply the rear brake hard enough to activate the ABS the light will reset w/o having to cycle the ignition switch.

I haven't tried to reset it by applying the front brake hard enough for ABS activation mainly because it's much easier and less dramatic  to just bump the rear brake real good. YMMV

when my abs sensor went, it started with intermittent flashing. then progressed to always on and regular (non abs) breaks. after the sensor was replaced everything was back as it should be.

i don't remember the cost, but it wasn't alot.

derek
