Intech posted: That's just about 50 shy of an SS1K for me. Waiting for date and location......
Same here. If I route through Jacksonville (Hudnall Road -- apparently named after me) on the way down and Brandon on the way back, I get 1,086 miles. Solidly committed to "Maybe" pending weather and work forecasts.

Sunday would.work for me also. Jim you are the host, you make the call. I was thinking that if we only got one bike done on Saturday, I could return on Sunday to finish up the other. (09 & 05)

I may bring the 08 if I don't make things happen on the 05 before Saturday. Waiting on battery and pads.

Tony put this up earlier Jim, thought you knew.

Ah, yes, I did read that! CRS and lack of comprehension on my part!

That said, I can do either day - so how about all the attendees post Sat or Sun? If someone has a compelling reason to do it only on one day or the other, let's hear it. I'll be here both days.

I would prefer Saturday. A couple are coming from Georgia, so probably need to get their input too.

I'd like to do Saturday, but I'm only hanging around for an hour -- hardly counts for voting purposes.

Erika?

<edit 30 mins later> If TS Erika is not coming to FLA before Monday, then I'm good to go. The weather before and after those storms is usually ideal.

It looks better for Saturday, based on the spaghetti models. Still, we'll have to keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't speed up and/or strengthen. Thursday will be the day to know for certain how likely it will be to affect us.

Even though my bike is perfect, I think I need to kill some dinosaurs and get rid of that irritating roundness new tires come with. So put me down as an absolute 'probably'.

Jim, I'm going to forego the fork oil change, but could still do a engine oil change. That is, if you don't mind me leaving old oil/filter behind.

Looks like Erika won't arrive until pre-dawn Monday. Saturday in Mims is forecast at 95F and 50% chance of thundershowers. (Which is typical Florida summertime, eh?)

See y'all Saturday around noon. I'll be attempting my fist ever Saddlesore, so won't be able to stay more than an hour -- and that hour will include a 10-minute nap.

Dunwoody ---> Jacksonville and Hudnall Road ---> Florida Tech Day ---> Brandon ---> Dunwoody.

Here's the Spotwalla link: https://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=e96655def517e4989 Spots should start appearing at 3 am Eastern on Saturday. Security zones around my and fljab's homes -- because there are creepy people on the internet.

We had a real frog floater rain storm here yesterday, and more expected today and going forward. Mostly in the afternoon, but you know how it goes.

Yes, doing an oil change is no problem. I looked at the fork oil change threads, and looks like front tube removal is required. I have the tools and we could do it if you want, but maybe that's more than you want to get into.

They're predicting Hurricane Erika for Tuesday I think - supposed to be offshore, but I'm sure we'll get some weather off of it. I need to do a PM on my generator + get some gas and I'll be good to go.

Doing fork oil is not that hard. Wish I could come to the tech day and show you. After you do it once you realize how easy it is. Doing bushings and seals is a little more involved and require special tools, but not that bad either. Unless, of course, you "Gixxerjason" them!

Yeah, doesn't look like fork oil change is all that bad. Lift up the front end, drop the fender and wheel, and take the tubes out, top caps off, and drain it upside down.

I see many use ATF to flush the grunge out, and when all that is drained, use fork oil 24 oz. The book actually recommends using Ohlins R & T43 oil, altho maybe there is a Yamaha branded oil? What do you use?

On another note, I got the garage semi cleaned out. My bikes are on the back porch and now it's just getting everything put away so I will have at least one lift to use, and maybe 2 if I can get the hardtail off of it and to the porch as well.

Still lots of work to do out there and hopefully will get it done by 9am Sat! I guess this is good motivation to get things cleaned up. My Ford big six project has taken on a life of it's own but hope to get that sorted and mostly out of the way.

Well, I'll be there, but not sure about my 2 amigos ( Vic, Steve). Look forward to meeting the Georgia boys!
