Shelly, Phil & I went out for a drink and a bite to eat. Rushes was too pooped to make it across the parking lot. When we came back Skip, Barak and a couple of the Montana boys were in the lobby. We swapped a few lies and then bedded down for the night.

It is currently 7:27 Mountain Daylight Savings Time. Time for sleepyhead Rushes to get out of bed.

Hey Yamafitter, ask BeemerDonS about me, bbolesaz. As of right now, I should be crusing down Mex45 with you guys and not sitting in my office.

I'd love to download tracks of the route to entertain myself here at work. However, Spotwalla apparently doesn't support that. Would you mind PM'ing a link to your actual spot view page?

Are you keeping GPS tracks?

Have fun, Tell Don how much retired people suck. Later, Brian.

I really wanted to go on this trip, but it just didn't work out.

So, yamafitter has a Spot with him, and I am riding vicariously with Spot and Google Earth.

Here's the spot link.

Right now, they are taking an odd shortcut around Chihuahua. It's the route my Mexico Bicimapas map would have used also. Much to Don's chagrin, I'll bet this route isn't on any of his paper maps.

They also seem to be massively behind schedule, It's going to be a late night arrival in San Juanito.

Looks like they went to Creel instead of San Juanito. Much better hotels in Creel.
.. and much better bars.

To say nothing of the big bags of cheesy puffs

But apparently no internet tonight so no word form those FFs.

Hmm... I'm thinking that stupid Spotwalla site has a LOT of delay. They don't seem to be going the right way either ?!?!

They are taking the main road to Batopillas. The itinerary says that overnight is in Urique. I've heard that there are "roads" between Bato and Urique. The suspense is killing me.

They must not be in a hurry, they spend 4 spot transmission (normally 10 min apart) at the overlook before the famous switchback drop then spent 3 more transmissions at the bridge. Just now rolling through La Bufa.

All o' yall have a good ride!

Looking forward to the ride reports!

Be sure and count potholes and river crossings and the like. Should be around 1600, I reckon?

They're in the thick of it now. Looks like they will go for Chiox tonight. Apparently, they warmed up this morning by doing a couple of crossings of Rio Batopilas. They just made the crossing of Rio Urique and have made it to the new mine.

Chiox is awfully far to make today I'm thinking Tubares but I'm not sure what lodging is available there.

PM me your email address and I'll send you some tracks from our trip this past Feb.

I think that Spotwalla has about 3-4 hours of delay in it. I could tell from the track that they stopped for lunch at the mine. The data is wierd now, it looks like they checked out the bridge at Tubares and are now heading north, maybe towards Urique?
