If anyone has a leaky fork seal, try this before you fork (no pun intended) upwards of $300. to get re-sealed. It really works!! I did my leaky right fork seal and it is now dry as a bone after a good test ride. Wish I knew about this when I had seals done the first time.....

Definately worth the $5.00 and 5 or 10 minutes to try first.

Hope this helps someone.....It sure made my day! Thanks again forum.

Told ya so. :)

Not exactly new info around here. It's been been discussed before. But very glad it worked out for you. It's saved my butt several times

Odd. He started a thread about leaky seals, someone posted this video in his thread, now he's got a new thread about the video, like he's the authority now.

I kinda think he knows it's not new information..... :glare:

Okay dude, This may not be new info to many here, but it was new to me. If I could save just one forum member $300, then this was well worth the post. It's called gratitude, its like passing something on that may help someone else who may not know as much as you! And why does this make you glare??? and whats your point anyway?

Okay dude, I think his point is that making a new thread on it isn't the way to to go about it.

In fact, threads merged since there isn't really any new information.

Glad your fork seal issue is managed.

I had a leak develope at the end of last season and didn't see it for a good 400 miles of riding. Needless to say it made quite a mess, as the oil turned into quite a dirt magnet. I found the seal mate online also and litterally 5 minutes after I opened the package the seals were reseated and work like new. The tiniest little speck of dirt was on the seal mate.

2400 miles later and still no sign of leaking. This is even after preloading and dampening to the max and min conditions for testing out.

It's hard to imagine what you have to do to actually damage a fork seal, maybe it's just a "BS" excuse shops use to get you to blow $300. My 32 year old Hondamatic has the original seals and they don't leak.

Not hard at all. When I pulled mine out, there was a chunk missing from one of the lips. By "chunk" I just mean a visible tear in the surface. No amount of seal-mate use would have ever fixed it.
