Happy Birthday Mike! :yahoo:
This post just made my day. Glad to see you're back in the saddle. Now that you and Howie are back on the Asphalt, the balance has been restored to the

"FORCE" around here. All is back to normal again. (Normal is Relative of coarse!). My Birthday is in 10 days! I'll be thinking of the both of you on my Bithday

Ride. Happy Trails my Friend! :fans:
thanx, Chief, ah Vic... :clapping:

glad your bike is good as new with that "scare"

So when are you and Howie gonna meet me in Marianna for lunch...for your birthday??? I'm buying... :yahoo:
Hey Mike!

I've been called to the Marianna Airport many times to Inspect some Dassault Falcon Jets they have up there. (You are talking about Marianna, FL aren't you?)

I've driven the cage all of those times. But, If you have plans to be in Marianna on or around the 17th, I'll be up there to meet you in a New York Second!!

My Birthday will be an excellent excuse (Not that I need too much of an excuse) to ride up there and let you buy me a drink (or 5)!! If Howie has the

time, that will give me the opportunity to buy him the Drink I owe him!! If you give me the green light, I'll be there with bells on!! :yahoo:
Yep, Florida...love those Florida Caves there at the State Park https://www.floridastateparks.org/floridacaverns/Weather permiting, I'm going with a Navy Mustang buddy to NAS Pensacola for him to lay a wreath on his Dad's grave on the 17th.

Jeff_Q may come along. Thought about a visit the Navy Air Museum. Jeff has to go to work Fri night.

Nick and I 's time are our own. If we left at sunrise, we could be in Pensacola at 1000 or so. Could go on to Mariana for lunchtime. Sounds like a plan to me...I know the weather on Wed looks good.

Steve da Howie, paging RadioHowie, please answer the white courtesy phone.

again, my email is "mholiver at cox dot net"

I'll shoot one to you, Vic and Howie as well.

Gotta love to ride

Mike
Holy Crap!! I'm In!! :yahoo: It's an 8-10 Hour ride for me depending on my speed! I'll ride up on the 16th and check into the local Holiday Inn.

I'll be waiting for your call on the 17th. I would love to get my U.S. Navy Memory Juices flowing by going with you to the Navy Air Museum! I'll make a weekend

out of it! :drinks:

Vic da Howie, Paging Radiohowie, Please answer the white courtesy phone Please!! :p

Mike, There is a Holiday Inn on I-10 Exit 142 at Marianna and one on I-10 Exit 120, 22 miles west of Marianna in Chipley.

Let me know which one is more convenient for you as far as the Navy Air Museum goes. It doesn't matter to me either way. I'm Easy!!

Y'all let me know if this 17th thing comes together. I need a few days notice to take off from work, but I can get up to Marianna easy, less than an hour. On a decent road, too!

Just don't ask me what's to eat up there, I have no local knowledge north of my county line! I'm a franchise guy when I'm up there, Pizza Hut, Wendy's etc. Maybe Subway.

Ok Now, That's funny as hell right there!! I think we'll live. But, there is nothing better than some greasy spoon country kitchen with somebodies grandma in the

back cooking up a storm. I love those places. Although, fastfood won't kill us either. I road to Panama City a couple of years ago to meet up with an old Navy

buddy of mine from Athens GA and we sat in a bar overlooking the Gulf and swapped sea stories for two days. It was awesome! :yahoo: Weather permitting,

this is going to happen. Stay Tuned! I want to spend my birthday weekend on my bike. Turning this into a Multi FJR thing will be the icing on the cake!! :yahoo:

I know EXACTLY where the best place to eat is.....at "Granny's".....my wonderful mother-in-law. MissusHowie's mom lives in Chipley.....and I KNOW I've got a room for a night or two. Granny loves 'Howie. He's the guy who got her "little girl" off the streets!

That sweet old Alabama girl knows here way around a kitchen. Too bad she didn't pass it on. <_<

Ok! That is Awesome! If you can make the trip, I'll get the room in Chipley. If you can leave on the 16th, I'll run into Winter Haven and we can ride up together.

Maybe you can put a good word in for me with "Granny". Tell her I'm very Low Maintenance and I love my mom too. Too bad she didn't pass it on!

But, we won't bring that up!! Man, this is going to be great! :clapping: Let me know!

My new used engine has 5k miles since it was installed and has been working perfectly. Strong and sweet and smooth and powerful. The mileage started out kinda low, but I think between gasohol and the engine being sitting for a few months, the mileage has started to creep up with a real diff when run on pure name brand gasoline. I'm gonna do a tbs and change to iridium plugs soon and need to tighten up the AVCC chain which is loose and causing a lag condition.

Riding through Pensacola heading for the coast road to come home Tue, I almost pooped in my pants as I heard the worst metal on metal scraping noise coming from my engine. It felt smooth and powerful and normal and I'm looking down and around trying to see what fell or is falling off the bike when I realize the engine is working normally. I can only hear this louder and louder dragging, scraping noise. I'm waiting for my riding podna Nick to tell me over the CB what's falling off.

Well, I say to him something is falling off my bike with a loud scraping noise. He replies, I'm hearing the same thing. Then I realize it's coming from the side and an old clunker in the lane next to me is dragging his muffler along the concrete street at 40mph. Sigh of relief and I point to the guy's car. He nods and accelerates ahead.

Crap, my blood pressure goes up a notch just typing this.

Yeah, things you don't even hear in a car can put you into a full panic on the bike. Even the sound difference between open road and concrete rails throws me off sometimes. (Well, not literally off the bike, but . . . you know what I mean!)

I'm glad your mileage is going up, though. When we last met you were talking about 150 miles to a tank. That's . . . . unacceptable!
