But planning for the worst, I got Fang some Frank Thomas leathers (photo). They don't zip together like mine, so I want to remedy that--may take the leathers to a cobbler and see what he can do. I also want to get her a back protector like I have: the Ninja Turtle style.

Ballistic mesh with 500 denier Hypertex

According to the man, you want to stay away from anything less than 620, whatever the hell "Hypertex" is. I'm sure it's better than denim, but skin grafts are no fun at all. IMHO, gear isn't the place to go cheap.

Many names are given to types of Nylon to make it sound

impressive. Only Cordura Nylon or Dynatec of 620 Denier or

above is suitable for motorcycle gear. Denier refers to the thickness

of the fibers in the weave, higher denier means higher

abrasion and tear strength. Be aware that due to cost, some

makers coat their nylon with a layer of polyurethane that under

heavy pavement friction can melt into your skin.

Saw some nice Kevlar britches on sale for $400.00. Kevlar is the real deal, and not decomposing ever since it was killed. JMHO

easily as the cords I had on. Duh on the corduroys but

the draggin shirt did nothing.

I need to choose my pants more carefully after seeing this. I've gotten into a jeans habit. (with a leather jacket, etc.)
