Ok, we are at $2400, with a few echecks waiting to clear that will put us at $2500.

Nice going, Forum. Lotsa karma points headed your way.

Can we make it an even $3k?

Carl,

Good to see your able to get on the fourm, it will pass the time faster for your recovery, were all pulling for you to get back to riding soon.

Marcus

So, WFO riders: ride 75 instead of 85mph on the way up and back this weekend, and take the $$ you would have paid in speeding fines and make a contribution to help Carl get through this.

Well, I didnt take your advice and I did get to meet with the local WSP representivive just outside of Colfax. However, I was able to avoid any fines at the time and as such, I will send said fines to Carl.

We are at $2,000 plus a stock shock to sale on the Forum...thanks to Old Michael Dave/FastJoyRide.

OM Dave, you & the shock rock!
Our Hudson corrected his post, but just to be sure it's corrected elsewhere-

Dave (FastJoyRide) is the shock donor, and should get the credit!

You're a good man, much like the rest of these forum animals, and generous for doing it.

Stay strong Carl. We all care.

Cleared out my PayPal account. Not much, but what I have to give right now. Don't let the hospital get you down Carl. You'll be home soon and will heal.

I broke my leg years ago in a moto accident, (tib/fib compound fracture), and the docs said I would need to be out of work for 3 months. I went back to work in 3 days with a split leg cast to my crotch. (manufacturing job) Second cast was a non-walker, but only knee high. I rode with that on to the third out patient doc visit, (much to his horror). Talk to your work place and see what they can accommodate, and when you feel you can handle it, go back in. It's tough, but it's better than sitting around at home worrying about the bills.

Just saying it's good to listen to the docs, but listen to yourself and your body too. Once the pelvis is feeling good, a heel/toe shifter can make riding easy. Just cover the toe of the cast with something. Trust me, you don't want bugs flying up your cast at 60 mph! :dribble:

especially the black and yellow ones?? ;)
Whats funny is that they never put me in a cast. Because where i am broken is where the Femur jammed up and broke the pelvis up inside. So no cast. I do have one sweet old walker to get around with. Did I mention that I feel old?

Thank you guys so much for all your support! All you guys have given me so much strength!

Carl

Hey Carl,

Maybe you should put some motorcycle grips and mount a clutch and brake lever on your walker, and while your at it some mirrors, and as you walk around the hospital you can make engine sounds VAROOOM VAROOM...

Take Care,

Marcus

Thanks for the clarification OM and to Dave / FastJoyRide for the donation. Definitely want to give credit when credit is due. Great bunch of folks we have here.

If you're gonna do all that, THIS might be the ticket. Put a scare into the nurses though...

The forum comes through!!!. $3100 at close of day today
YOU

GUYS/GALS

ROCK!!!
I thank all you guys/gals from the bottom of my heart. You have touched my life with warming care, awesome friendship, and the utmost support. I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate it. I will get another bike and it will be another FJR. You bet, as soon as I have the legal stuff worked out with the insurence and I have the strength and balance, we will ride again. I am not the kind to give up.

I am liking where you guys are going with this. However, with as much as I hurt, it would be like a riced out Honda. All noise and no go. :dribble:

I was going to try to figure out how to put the old motor into a quad. But that is yet another project that I don't need.

Carl

Keep healing, that's your main project for now. It's fun to think about the what if projects, but they tend to suck time and money away from the other things you enjoy doing. (unless you have tons of both, like those old retired guys ;) )

Well it is a bummer that I had to trade in my FJR for a walker. Sigh oh well. So, now is time to fly this couple. I am literaly sitting on the edge of this hosp bed writing this mesg and waiting for some close to show up, then I'm outta here!!! Will keep you updated at home too/ pics.
