Wonky's Back !!
The treasured package from University Motors arrived this afternoon- so when I arrived home, my new little o-rings were waiting for me.
All nice, and round......
and in one piece.
So -
New orings all around - fuel rail installed, cables (now where does this one go? ) hooked up, tank sitting upright with fuel line and cables attached -
Carbtune in place.
Screwdriver - all the idle adjust screws all the way in - then back out 2.5 turns.
Ignition on - (yes, check the kill switch)
fuel rail pressurizes -
and ....... VROOOM !!!! She starts right up.
and still idles on 3.
:ermm: :ermm:
oh....... .
OK. I check everything. seems ok.
push down on the FI connectors - #3 goes 'snick!'
OK. Now it runs on all 4.
Perform the TBS - and it's spot on and stable. Cleanest it's idled in a long time.
remove the Carbtune.
Install the heat shield. Torque down the T-bar. Connect the pump wires.
Start her up again .... WTF !!! ?!?!?!?
And it's running on three, or two? Or maybe ... I don't know !!!
:cray:
by this time, I'm thinking, OK - been a long day, guess I'll go inside and deal with this LATER.
So I'm standing at my work bench - holding back tears ..... and I look down...... and ..... and. ....
there's three vacuum port caps. taking up space on my workbench. So - I look at them a bit - -
and they don't climb up off the bench and install themselves.
Tbar off, heat shield off, INSTALL THE $%#%$ caps......
Start her up , and yeah baby !!!! She's fixed !!!!
At least until the next time I install something, that is.
All - thanks for the help in troubleshooting - the kind words of support - and just being there with me during this process. Holding my hand is a very special feeling ............
kind of like... ahh.... novacaine?
Now what on earth am I supposed to do with this extra set of clutch plates that I bought just in case ????
Ya know, I never did have that Jack Daniel's - watchya think? Maybe I should mail it to Jestal !!
