I'm getting a group together in NB, Canada to do a four corners basic SS1000.(1600 km) but we also get a little squirrely here in Canada during the winter so are planning a trailer ride to Jacksonville, a 50CC to San Diego and a leisurely ride back to Jacksonville. That will be January/February 2014.

Hey Tony, I might be up for it in August. I have the last two weeks off.

I'm going to be down in your area the first or second week in April. Going to attempt my first saddle sore. Heading down to Zephyrhills to see mom then might continue down to Key West to cover the bunburner. On the way back I want to attempt the BBG. My biggest obstacle is going to be when I stop and see mom...she's going to want me to stay.

Jason,

I don't know your plans in detail for your April ride, but the SS1k to your mothers sounds good.

I say scrap the BB, spend time with mom and time your ride to Key West to hit sunrise and or sunset on your ride up and or down.

I hope you are not starting your BBG out of KW.

You would lose an hour off BBG pace by the end of your first tank. I have a guesthouse right off of I-95 you are welcome to stay in. I could set you up with witnesses and for your first BBG, you will want some type of tracker for others to enjoy your ride. If you don't have one, you can use my spot.

By adjusting your route with "Corners", you can plan a BBG route back home with faster areas than KW, keeping the 2 hour padding for traffic or a roadside nap.

I am working now, but will send you a PM with additional info. I ran a BBG from WPB to your area 2 years ago.. The trip in the fall... That would be great!

Tony, if you ever decide that going clockwise would be better, I'd consider accompanying you from Thunder Bay to KW. That would set me up just fine for the Palms to Pines ride. A ride I failed to complete last year after doing the GL Gold. Rode out to Nova Scotia a few yrs ago and wouldn't mind having a good excuse to get out there again.

Just a thought.

I would consider changing directions. I rode the Palms to Pines to Palms a few years back. You know the offer stands for you with the guesthouse also. Oil change, tires or just staging for Key West - I am sure you are familiar with the north end of that ride. Also... In September I will be riding up to NE Iowa for a family get together/CFO drop in. All depends on your timing, but I could ride up with you the better part of the way.

I am still at work, and hope my fat fingers are typing what I intend them to. The catch to the eastern leg is that Madawaska must be done apart from the trans Canada Gold . So clockwise it would have to be Nova Scotia to Madawaska, so then I most likely would run down the western side of the NE. Better riding anyhow!

Let me know your plans and timing when you are locked in.

Late August/early September works for me. I suspect tagging along with you, I won't need to request all that much time off from work. And with me, "work" is a huge variable this year. Will know more in a couple of months.
