I put out an invite before and had Bust and extrememarine ride a SS1000 with me on the 2nd day. Others joined the ride

(Bungie and Ray) and meet ups that were great. So I will try another invite...

I am considering future rides. I am leaning towards Fall of 2013 but would consider summer 2014 also.

Since my planning is not a priority right now, I thought I would put it out there for other riders to ponder.

There are 2 rides that I am leaning towards:

*A modified 4 corners starting in Key West and ending in Key West.

I would like to pull off my favorite ride (The 10/10ths) with a Trans Canadian northern leg.

Since it would be 10 1000 mile days, Saddlesore riders would be welcome anytime. I would also

consider a Border 2 Border on the western leg, even a Coast2Coast (50CC) on the southern leg.

My times are flexible, so If you are interested in any of these rides- let me know.

*The other ride is a "Hell Week"

This ride would consist of 7 BBG attempts in a weeks time (I accent the word ATTEMPTS) :dribble:

This would be 7 chances to pull off a BBG. Ride one ride all.

Hmmm. Would be game to participate in a Spring 2014 Hell Week, especially if we could put together appropriate support. A home base west of Mississippi (but not too far west) with some friends to help out. . .

Intriguing. . . Unfortunately time off will all go to IBR in 2013.

This ride will be built around the 2013 IBR for good reason.

That is precisely why I was looking to early fall or the next year. If the 10'n10 is held in fall of 2014, it would be

nice to squeeze another ride in between the 2 events. This is why I will not be planning till after July also. A

FJR forum "Hell week" marking the 10 year anniversary of Warchilds (?) Hmmmm (?)

I'm near the mouth of the chesepeake watching the trees and cars blow over. This is going to be a good one.

Next thing we need is a volunteer with garage space for 3-6 bikes and tire machine, etc. Potential of about 11,000 miles for the truly sick (oh, guess that's us). Could easily make 3-7 routes from a place like Nevada, Dakotas, Nebraska or anywhere south of that. I will need to have 1000 hours of new music made up for this boring, yet exciting bit of riding :clapping:

I think that's at least pi participants.

Well so far everyone that has expressed interest

In the Hell week is also a 2013 IBR rider (?!)

My thought on 2014 - sounds great!

We can start planning next August .

Initial ideas:

Each rider start from home and do the first BBG

to arrive at a centralized start location. This would

save the amount of time off work.

Mountain- I have run PR 2s through (5) 10/10ths. My

current tires ran over 11k in the 10n10 rally and then

back to south Florida and I would still run another 5k

On them. But I like your thinking on a support garage.

Derek and Tim- what a blast it would be to try and hang

with you animals!!

Yeah, could certainly have it planned right like other events of that magnitude. Not so worried about tires. But some silly maintenance ought to peep up for somebody so trying to set us up for success. If no volunteers, well, we'll have to do it anyway.

It was reading Curt's HellWeek report that got me motivated to do LDRiding (last spring). It is a ride I will attempt for sure one day. This could be a fantastic setting.

OK, hate to dig up a thread BUTT, Updated thoughts:

Seems an interest in a "Hell week" for 2014- I am up for that.

I decided to make another ride for late summer/early fall and wanted to put out an invite. My time is flexible and so I would be

willing to schedule based on someone else's time frame.

Here is the ride:

It is a 4 corners (Unofficial for me)with a trans Canada Gold for the northern leg.

Any rider could join in for a SS1k / Trans Canada Gold / B2B / 50CC or better yet,

a 10/10ths.

Cool ride! I guess you're talking this year?
I like doing 2 big rides a year. You and I are sharing the 1st one in July, so I figured this one to be the other ride.

"Hell week" attempt seemed to be desired in 2014 by most everyone interested- So yes in August/September 2013, this ride is looking good.

I have been thinking about a coast to coast in 6 days for 2014. For some reason that is on my bucket list.

Dave

This route of your's, clockwise or counterclockwise? If clockwise, how much time do you figure for from the top of Superior to KW?
My initial thoughts are:

Start in West Palm Beach, FL ride to Key West and Back to West Palm Beach (To pick up everything I'd forgotten)Go In a counterclockwise ride up the East coast.

Timing will be very important through the NE. I might consider a more scenic route through West Virginia and up the western side of the NE states to Madawaska, ME.

Then east to Halifax, Nova Scotia. First motel for fresh start to Vancouver, BC for Trans Canada Gold finish.(75 hrs)

(To answer your question on Timing: I want to leave Halifax by the 48 hour mark fully rested. If you went directly to Sault St Marie from KW its 30 hrs.)

The west coast will have another regrouping motel stay for timing down to San Ysidro, CA. Much of the trip will depend on circumstances, such as other riders attempting

other certs. I will include the 4 corners, but only list them as checkpoints on the overall 10/10ths. Another rider may wish to make their ride with the other club official.

I like to set a limit on motel stays, this ride would most likely be 3 or 4 if I ride it alone. My goal will be to return from Key West to home in 10 days.

2 days Key West to Nova Scotia

3 days Nova Scotia to Vancouver

1 day to San Ysidro

2 days to Jacksonville, FL (If someone wants a 50CC) if not I might do the west coast of Florida down.

1 day to KW and home

Leaving a day for scenic routing should I want to leave the slabs (My route is flexible)

I will start planning in August...
