Don't know how to properly insert an image, and I'm not going to **** with Picasa to do so.

If techies want to help me post these pictures, fine. You can see them on my Facebook page, and some of you are Facebook Friends, so if you can copy the image and post it here, great, I appreciate your help.

These are CNC-machined billet aluminum mirror extensions made by a friend. Bare aluminum or black powdercoat finish. $130/pair, including shipping.

They're made by a good, honorable man who has a real job (advanced machinist who builds robots, among other things) and is doing this as a sideline. If there's enough interest, he can produce them and will figure out a way to take payments.

No group buys, haggling, or complaints.

Two FJR owners, including me, have them so far. Great rearview. Caveats - the mirrors will only fold back with a lot of force, and the threads that attach the extensions are SAE. If there's enough interest, we may be able to talk him into making them with metric threads. Lanesplitting may require additional wiggling, as they place each mirror 3" higher and 3" outboard of stock. This seems to put them above car-mirror level, but at or near SUV-level mirrors.

If interested, post up here, and we'll figure out a way to make this work for everyone.

I have no financial stake or gain in this project. It's a great product. Yes, they're expensive, but how much is a good view behind you worth?

Mods, if you think this is better off in Vendors, have at it. He's not really a vendor yet, just assessing interest in this farkle.

You don't actually "insert" an image as much as you link to it. So if you have it public and uploaded to a server or image host (like photobucket) just click the image button on your reply and copy/paste the image location.

Pretty easy once you give it a shot.

Def would like to see the pics^

Nope. This forum won't let me link to Facebook. It's uploaded into Picasa, on my desktop. No "https://" address available that way.

If you like, send an email to [email protected], and I can attach pictures to a reply there. Or, maybe you can see them somewhere out on the road this summer.

Okay, thanks, TopSpeed1. I'll give that a shot.

"You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board"

So says the administration for my attempts to add an image through both Photobucket and Picasa. I'm done with this.

Click the links, that should work.

For some reason, the pictures showed up a few minutes later.

There they are, let me know if you like 'em.

Not that I care if he does or does not, but I believe Ryan when he says he does not have a financial interest in this offer...

Damn!

That is some crazy ****, G! :yahoo:

Now, if you can just make money appear like that....

What kind of windshield is that?

I am looking for a winshield the most protection, since I ride in the winter, thank you.

That's a Rifle, custom sized to my specs. They do it for a very reasonable additional cost.

If I could make money appear like that I would do nothing but ride my FJR and would have kicked your dog and broken your Prudhoe Bay to Key West record a LONG time ago. :) :p
We need to take up a collection, that's how I got it done. I'll put in a set of those mirror extensions, but you're probably going to need another $6000.

Who else is in? :)

Now THAT'S an extension! Might make it hard to lane share, but I bet you can see EVERYTHING, maybe even the back of your head!
Yeah, they're pretty sweet. Can't see the back of my head, but can see the entire width of the lane about 15-20 feet behind me, from each side.

Do you know if they stick out even more than the FZ-1 MIRRORS...

Just based on those photos, I would definitely say yes.

Took a ride over to the barn to visit the Gen1 and take some measurements. Width across the widest point with FZ1 mirrors is nearly identical - 43 3/4 inches on both bikes. The sadllebags are 37 inches wide.
