If the falls are on the list, you might stop off at the 2nd best museum in Oregon.

The Western Antique Automobile and Aerospace Museum in Hood River. It is fantastic! Hundreds of antique planes, cars, and mototcycles to view. Best yet there are oil pans under every vehicle. (as in they all drive, fly, and ride)

Enjoy!

Sounds like a plan for a rainy afternoon one weekday!

Voodoo Doughnuts for a bacon maple bar. MMMmmmmm.

Voodoo Doughnut

22 SW 3rd Avenue Portland Oregon, U.S.A.

Also, lot's of great eateries, pubs, and shops in the Pearl District.

BigChunk
Voodoo doughnuts is somewhere at the top of her list!
Don't be disappointed. Big line ups for an average donut unless you are into the exotic flavors.

Oh man, nothing to see in this state....here's a few pics of nothing!

Just a few from the coast. I'll post some more later, internet at the hotel is wonky right now.

Anybody want to get together and have a beer in the next few days, shoot me a pm. We're in Portland till Sunday.

Just kidding about the scenery! This state is absolutely beautiful! :yahoo:

Follow the coast down to Reedsport ( by the way, weather is the Oregon Coast embrace and enjoy!), then you can follow the Umpqua River all the way to Crater Lake (as mentioned). Amazing drive and Crater Lake will blow your mind! It's a wonder of the world!

A few years ago I rode to Oregon with a nephew. He had never been and was also his first multi state ride. So three days in, I take him up the North Umpqua. I found out later that he had been calling his wife and bitchin' how I was making him ride into the mountains to see some lame lake! Dude, you should have seen this kid nut up when we parked at the rim of the crater! Priceless!

The whole state is pretty gorgeous, so it's really all about time!

Ok, back home and recovered from jetlag and the time change! Here's a few more pics.

Glad you had a good trip. And Yes, unfortunately all that beauty comes with rain as it's price.

From a year round rider, yep, the rain gets old. Heated gear is a must!!

Yeah, there were a lot of times I wished I was on the bike, but other times glad I wasn't! A lot of roads had wet slippery leaves everywhere. One thing I noticed was that a lot of roads out there have a very coarse surface, obviously to maximize traction, but I bet it's hell on tires!

I definately got my $$ worth out of the rental; put over 1k miles on it!
