I just installed Symptec heaters. Used an easternbeaver.com relay harness triggered off the OEM Gen II grip connector so relay's only energized when the engine's been started. Went straight to the battery for power. I have reached farkle max at the battery so a power block is my next to do.
I have them installed under my Progrips and they really crank the heat. As much or more than on the BMWs I've owned with factory grips. Worst part of the install was getting my 2 yr old Throttlemeister off the right side. Too much locktite ;-)
I was even able to reuse my old grips thanks to the old compressed air trick. I did put them back on with high temp RTV so we'll see if they ever come off again that easily...
