A good friend of mine went on a Grizzly bear hunt last month up in the Yukon Territory. Here is a pic of his trophy:

He has told me the story of the hunt over lunch and I wish I could pass it along, but it would'nt be the same. It involved the old Andy Griffith show line: hootie hoo......hootie hoo........ Some real funny stuff but only if you were here to hear him tell the story in person.

Excellent trophy! He and his dad just got back from a African safari about 6 months ago. The man loves to hunt................and apparently is pretty good at it.

Call me a bedwetter, I guess... That image disturbs me.

If your going to go hunting, at the very LEAST, don't shoot animals that eat deer and elk. I need all the help I can get. ;)
Funny you should say that............the bear was on a recent caribou kill when he was "harvested".

Sorry Brundog.........didn't mean to disturb anyone......... IMHO wild animals need to be managed like any other natural resource and done so as humanely as possible. Hunting this type wild animal takes some real nads..........notice no trees to climb or shoot from.........better make that first shot count......you might not get another.

Get em to send ya the rug for your birthday. WHICH IS TODAY!!!!

Damn, you're old. (I know, because I am that old.) Happy Birthday!

Thanks Scab, Hope they clean it real good, I would lay it down in front of my fire place and get naked on it with the wife :blush2:

So......got any good Grizzly recipes? Cuz if they ain't eatin' it, why are they killing it? Unless of course, it was tryin' to kill them.

Now if you want to take it on with a knife, have at it. May the best mammal win.

I just don't get trophy hunting.

How far away were the bears when they shot those guys in the goofy hats? Does the brim of the hat get measured for Boone & Crockett?

Kudos for continuing the generations-long tradition in the face of all the pressure from cityfied nancy boys.

WOW! Very few folks can say they’ve BTADT.

One could definitely get a “charge” from participating in that activity. :gun:

Bear.... :rip_1:

You mean "The man loves to hunt..........and apparently is pretty rich to be able to afford it"

What is "so good" about shooting at animals with a high powered rifle from afar?? I would imagine that anyone that had the money and inclination could do it equally well. And you think the guide isn't backing him up in case he keeps missing? LOL. NO LOL.

Somehow killing something like that is disgusting to me. Wish I hadn't clicked on this thread.

Depends. If the animal is a human, you've got to be pretty good. Otherwise, you just wing 'em. Then those sumbitches shoot back.

No offense taken. And certainly not from you. I just don't get the whole thing - it's not my bag, baby.

Nor is it mine. Don't quite get it. I was watching a hunting show a while back where the "hunter" built a camo hut and then in a tree he hung a huge slab of meat. Then he sat there until a cougar came along. From about 15 feet he shot him. He was soooo proud of himself too...what a great hunt. It baffles me really. Did I miss the "hunt". Although with all of the stories about deer killing motorcyclists...I'm really leaning toward deer hunting.
