Riding along Oregon 7, running low on fuel, I decided to pull off to check on finding a gas station. I saw a level pull off up ahead, slowed down to a walking pace as I could see it was fresh gravel and wanted to be real slow when I got into it.

Well made it into the pull off OK, but just at feet down time the front wheel sank into a 6-8 inch rut that was covered by the gravel, instant stoppie, I was totally unprepared for that, blew me off the left side of the bike, and from what I can tell the bike got a bad rashed up left side bag and mirror, nothing actual broke.

Me, when to pick up the bike found left arm couldn't bear any weight, broken collar bone :angry2: crap. Have to see how this works out, Right now pumped up on ibuprofen and percocet, so I'm feeling pretty good, I feel pretty on so pretty

Two vendors I want to thank

Premier Cycle, their TOGs Worked, saved alot of damage on that gravel.

Russell's Towing 800-693-6672 Mardras, OR.

came right away, took great care loading and tyeing the bike down on the tilt bed, took me a Motel, unloaded the bike, took me to the emergency room, picked me up from the emergency room, took me to a pharmacy to fill the prescription, and back to the motel.

All that and the tow bill came to less than $150, of course I gave him extra, he didn't want to take it, but I made him.

Crashing sucks. I highly recommend not doing it.

Glad to hear your ok for the most part. Broken collarbones suck moist *** cheese. But not as bad as ribs.

Hang in there. And don't do it again!

Yeah but, you meet the nicest people when you crash, Doctors, Nurses, Xray Techs, and Tow Truck Drivers.

OK, that is most definitely going above and beyond the call. I have seen time and again where people or things show up at the exact moment they are needed (BeamerReamer and Mrs' encounter with the forest rat comes to mind) and people just do what needs doing because it's the 'right' thing to do, and then want no extra attention or anything. Maybe the tow company had another driver who wouldn't have gone to this extreme, but you happened to spill when he wasn't working and got the guy you got. Lots to complain about in this world for sure, but absolutely lots to be truly thankful for. Glad you and your scoot aren't banged up any worse. Heal fast!

That just sucks. But sounds like you got first class service from the wrecker guy!

Glad you're ok and at least nothing major broken on your bike.

Read the labels, but I gotta tell ya, a beer and a Perc with some good TV makes for the best nights sleep!

Hi Airboss,

good to hear you were looked after so well. Mend quickly

been thru broken clavicle and 4/ 5 ribs. Don't know that particular med combination, though, but listen up...

Percocet helps pain mucho, but you got to eat 3 or 4 bags of dried prunes every day or you'll be constipated to beat hell. Happens to everyone on this stuff.

Kid you not, hire your friendly nurse or motel clerk to go to the grocery store and buy bags and bags of dried prunes. Now.

That sucks bad, man. I did the same thing 12 years ago on my 3-month-old SuperHawk. Needed to look at a map, pulled onto a wide gravel area beside the road, BAM! On the ground. There was a rut, and rain had washed this powdery substance into the rut. Sad thing is, if I'd been going 15 or 20 mph, I probably would have just had a little wobble, and gone right through it. But not at 5 to 7 mph. Almost no damage, either to me or the bike, but the other guys got a good laugh out of it. I guess I looked like Arte Johnson on Laugh-In, riding the trike in his rain suit.

Heal fast. There will be riding season left when you're ready to go again.

Yep....or stool softener like "Dulcolax".

Trust us...you'll be glad you did.

Heal, bro, some of us know it isn't any fun.

I am so sorry man. Broke a clavicle before. Ribs other times. I'd rather have broken ribs, at least you can do stuff through the pain with ribs (as long as they don't go through your lungs).

How are you going to get your bike home? Ship it? Can't really safely ride with a broken collar bone -- though I did ride mine for 20 miles after the crash to get it home. Adrenaline is better than percocet.

Heal up man.

Dang, sorry to hear that, heal quickly . It's probably U- Haul time to get your bike back home.

If I could help you out personally by taking a mcy trip out there...I would.

Hope you get all the help and healing you need. You are one tough cookie...but this might even be beyond riding it out for you...

boss, sory to hear of your get-off. Here's to hoping you heal well and quickly. I hate gravel.

You hear that SPORT and Wild72? Understand why I hate gravel??? :thumbsdownsmileyanim:

Karl, let us know what your plans are when you figure it out...

...anything any of the west coasters can do for you?

Damn dude!

Sorry to hear of your get off! Glad it wasn't worse

Tow truck guy's karma cup is overflowing.

I'm down in Redding, have a garage if ya need to store the bike, let me know.
