You need your own topic header Don, that way I can just subscribe to the "What Did Don Crash today" thread.

Don't let it get you down buddy. Maybe something with an airbag for your next ride?

I do not think the problem lies with motorcycles or Harleys. (Not to imply that Harleys are not motorcycles!)

I just do not think a trike with a skinny front tire is going to respond to the reflex actions of an experienced motorcyclist like Don. I am certain that after decades of riding all sorts of motorcycles and all different brands on all different surfaces Don's "instincts" are well honed. I am betting the trike requires some different inputs and is not as "safe". They always look awkward as hell to me.

At least with the Can-Am it is a purpose built chassis, designed from the beginning to function with three wheels. Not so with a triked out HD.

For **** sakes Don .... really! At least you can laugh (cry) about it. Get in the pool dammit!

Perhaps part of the problem was going from 2-wheels to 3-wheels... one of the things I found that I had to overcome was tracking as a 2-wheeled vehicle (i.e. right or left of the center of the lane) and instead tracking more center... perhaps if you'd not ridden in "formation" (right/left) you might have avoided hitting the other bike... I'm really sorry this happened, my friend...

**** man, that sucks. No two ways about it. Glad you are ok and did not land on your 'still healing' side, though this will still leave a mark.

Damn Don not again,

you have to at least heal up from your first mishap

....sure glad it wasn't worse, and hope you have a complete recovery.

Thanks Petey, I got this very nice note from my AZ Beemers Friend Jodi Koller-Smee. She summed up my feelings perfectly: Yes, I want to ride! JSNS, ese!

"Don

I am so sorry to hear about your "incident" yesterday. Hang in there, Don. It's all going to work out okay in the long run, don't be discouraged. I've had my moments as well, and then I ask myself, "well, do you want to ride or not?" The answer is always "yes, I want to ride," no matter what I have to go through to do it. "Not riding" is not an option for me.

Take care, and let me know if I can do anything to help you.

Sincerely,
Jo"

Mazda Miata. That's the answer.
Actually Swollen Raccoon, if a Roadster is in my future it would be this one! The 1990 Corvette ZR-1 owned by fellow FJR Forum Member Bearly Flying - Don of Alberta, Canuckistandia. I have always had LUST in my heart for these beauties, Hubba-Hubba! https://www.zr1netregistry.com
