This video has gone 'viral' in the UK after being released by Norfolk Police and the rider's family.
Well worth viewing and reading.
I have put up a link to the police website so people can read the story as well view fatal collision.

Last Sunday I went for a ride with mates. I rode like a ****. That weekend there were four riders killed in 24 hours in the city where I live and I saw this video on the news. I have regretted my actions all week.
But for the grace of God.
Peace be with the rider, his family and the driver.
Not far from where I live a speeding motorcyclist was killed, he also killed the passenger of a car who had turned in front of him. The speed limit was 70 KPH (40 MPH) the car was knocked onto it's side and the passenger side was totally staved in he was going that fast. There were three girls in the car who had just been to church in the car, the driver was so deeply affected that so would call into or home for almost a year seeking closure. It was not her fault. The fiancee of the motorcyclist was riding pillion on her brother's bike and saw the accident happen. Fortunately her brother had insisted that she ride with him or else I believe that she would have been killed also.
It is my intention to sell my bike, this has been coming for a while.
Thanks for taking the time to read.
Best regards
Steve
So simply riding and driving (yes, in cars too) less dickishly wasn't an option? This video has gone 'viral' in the UK after being released by Norfolk Police and the rider's family.

Hope this clarifies my situation.

I'm not. I'm questioning my understanding. I've ridden with ******* riders and tend to learn (and leave) early when I can. It may never happen but I sure don't want to be around if it does. Why do people think they have the right to question someone else's decision to ride or not ride? WTF??
Totally on board with Mike's sentiments... the bikes bring us together but the bond sticks no matter what... today the right decision is to sell the bike and I understand it... have known a few folks give it up for the same reasons... that they couldn't control that urge to twist the throttle past the point of no return... good on you for recognizing it... but know that there are lots of folks who care about you and that has nothing to do with the bike... and should you come to the point that you want to give it a go again, that's okay too... take good care of yourself, love those in your life, and just love life in general in whatever that direction takes you.Surly, I'm not saddened by the decsion you have come to in regards to selling your bike. That is purely a personal choice. But I am bummed to think you may not hang out much more. I laughed my *** off at more jokes of your's than I care to try and count. You have always come across as the kind of "mate" I would have really enjoyed meeting if ever I had the good fortune to visit Australia.
In the event you cease to grace us with your presence here, stay well. Better yet.....take some of the money you got from your bike and get your Aussie butt over here to the States. I bet your room n board would be more than affordable.
Mike
Amen and amen. I know how you feel, and I admire your decision. I know it was not an easy one. And I'd bet you're still feeling--and may forever feel--conflicted by the decision. All the best, and thanks for coming along for the ride.Hi All,I sold my bike this morning.
