On a highway (no inlets or outlets except exits), in no or light traffic, I'll get me a move on. I'm a total Mr. Rogers on two/three lane roads with driveways and cross streets. Even more so if I've got my wife on the back. It's a risky pursuit, but so is knife fighting. And that never stopped me.

Saw this video awhile back but never knew the story. Brave mother and family with a wish to reach other riders to be safer. Have watched a lot of video's like this in recent years. Felt kind of ill every time but now its turned to something else. And I do think video's like this have effected the way I ride.

I will not criticize the speed. Most of us have been there before. But the video is a reminder of when you don't get away with a mistake.

Just saw this tonight and wow. Truly sobering. We've all heard these exact stories, but to see a video showing it makes it so visceral. I showed the video to my teenage son who is soon to get his license to drive.

Condolences to that family, and to all who have lost brothers, husbands, friends to one form of vehicle death or another.
