I attended a local limited showing of "Hitting The Apex." For anyone that is unaware it's a recounting of recent MotoGP history, the major players and their struggles with the tracks, the bikes and each other. There is enough backstory provided that non riders and neophytes can follow along without any difficulty. The film was a bit long and could've been edited a little more concisely and the filmmakers monologue at the beginning could easily been edited out and probably will be an option on the cd to follow.
The riders were portrayed fairly and some of them really looked like egocentric boobs focused entirely upon themselves and their careers. It was very enlightening to hear the series director explain how and why the current penalty points system is in place. I don't want to be a spoiler so many details have been left out for you, the gentle viewer to discover on your own. I highly recommend the movie for anyone who is a motorbike enthusiast or race fan, you won't be disappointed but bring a cushion because you'll need it.
