Just got home a short while ago. Just under 600 miles taking the Arky detour. Part of the way with Galaxy Blue/Adam who left and then I continued on with The Imperial Lumpkin, Iron Butt Rider, Twistie Terror and all around Bon Vivant, Scooter. The boy did very well on the twisties for a new guy, hell, even for experienced riders. When I left him about 4:30 west of Eureka Springs, we had covered 350+ miles and he still had 1,325 to go to get home. We took Hy 62 across Norhern AR and it was disappointing. He will have to come back for the Mountain View event to see the good Arkansas roads.

It was great seeing all of you guys again and meeting the new ones. The weather could not have been better yesterday and today was a copy. The rain on Friday was probably a good thing as all of the mechanic work got done and no one was ancy to get out and ride.

We were truly blessed in that no one had any riding incident and there were a lot of miles covered at some ultra-limit speeds. Luckily we had 3 or so ex HiPatrol to make sure that we were mindful of the limits. HAH! Those miscreants were shameless in their cavalier attitude and scofflaw obeyance of the speed limits.

Scooter is one tough dude. Riding 1,500+ miles in 21 1/2 hours to get there Friday AM and then join us the next morning to ride 400+ miles of high speed twisties and then leave Sunday AM for 1,600 miles to get home so that he can leave Weds. for Washington. Class guy.

What can I say about Smitty? The problem with having him for a friend is that you can never repay him for all the things he does for you. I think everyone there can attest to that. Three cheers for Smitty and his brother Darrell for the BBQ Saturday night!

To those of you who could not make it, you missed a great day, a great ride, and a good group of people, and, you were probably talked about!

Chester

The worst part of riding around Hooterville is coming home. I have never found routes anywhere near home that even compare. Smitty and Darrell are the best, and I had a blast. I did have a pretty big fade on Saturday in the middle of the ride, but the stop at the Dog & Suds was just what I needed. Yep, it couldn't get any better than that!

Griff, Wheaton and I took a different route home. Went over through Chester and all the way over to 57 across Rend Lake. That was a nice way to start the day. Then on the slab we kept a pretty good pace except where we got bottlenecked by left laners. Typical.

I cut off at Matoon and came home across 16, 150, then local roads. It was only about 42 miles from the interstate. Regrettably, those other guys still had a few hours to go. But considering there was barely a cloud in the sky and around 72 degrees, well who could complain?

I'm ready for Mountain View!!!!!! :yahoo: Are we allowed to go there yet? Just make sure Chester keeps his helmet on in Oark.

Let's GO!

You know I'm gonna have to get me one of them trick-cycles for myself and the wife someday. Smitty is a wizard...that rear axle is extremely lightweight...it's almost like it isn't even there. That's GOTTA help handling and keeping the weight down!

Here's hoping for a 3rd annual Hooterville 400.

Missed the first one, I didn't find it until it was over.

This year the timing was just wrong for me, Saturday night had a date with a couple of dancing girls, and of course Sunday Mothers day.

zzzzip the pics are great,I can see, I missed some great roads, great scenery, and great company.

So here's to next year. :drinks: How about it Smitty.

The way it looks from the rear can't be accurately described, too. I can't quite get a line on it, but something about the whole thing just hooks you. Reel hard.

Hey, what a great weekend. I made it home ok, had to really watch it (you know with the two performance awards I got recently) It seemed like the boys in blue were thicker than fly's on you know what.

Great riding with all of you, and looking foward doing it again soon. :yahoo:

Guess I shouldn't have razzed my buddy griff about using his tires up in the H400.

I only managed to get another 600 miles out of mine before the cords are showing through today. Z6s with 8460 miles. Wore evenly though--front is worn out too.

Ordered some new Avons today, so it looks like no riding for the next week. Bummer.
