Howdy all! Been a while

I washed and waxed my Feej yesterday. :dribble: ….

….I mean there’s a lot of pressure when you ride with djbill and fairlaner. Anytime a dust spec gets on their bikes, they call in the detail squad. Their bikes are perfect!
I recall pics of fairlaners garage floor – cleaner than my kitchen :good:

Lol I never got you guys on this subject. Ghey? You’re all MEN (for the most part), who by virtue, are supposed to be fascinated by shiny metal objects. My Buick is a dumptser on wheels. It’s just ‘the car’.

But toys are supposed to shine! If once a week, you pull it up to the hose ½ hour after shutting it down, a quick wipe-down & spray with a rag / hose takes what, 3-4 minutes? If you never let the crud pile up, the ‘real’ wash every 2-3 weeks is a snap.

This thread is useless with out pictures. <_<
Hehe. ok.

FJRs have such nice lines, they’re gorgeous if they’re not buried in grime.

If they're always clean, details always just take that quick wipe-down to shine, like this 7 yr old (at the time) engine. Only problem is flaws stand-out more, like the devastation on my stator cover after a sloppy u-turn in a gravel cul-de-sac.

That's just wrong!! Kick him off! walk the plank! Next thing ya know you'll be putting a car tire on it!
Just remember, I have a pic of you actually cleaning your windshield. It was with an SOS pad, but still.
Well monsieur Steve, if memory serves, you keep your '04 pretty shiny too? :coolsmiley02:

And before anyone uses it as an excuse, mine was no garage queen (I don’t even have a garage). I thrashed this old ’03 on long-haul tours, daily commute, constant day-rides up in the laurentian twisties, mauricie, 2 runs around the maritimes/cabot trail and 2.5 seasons of track days before I finally got a more appropriate mount for the task. Yeah, sadly, my FJR is gone.

Case in point: I bought my ’03 in the spring 2009 for $6200, rode the hell out of it 2.5 seasons / 33000kms, then sold it for $6600 because it was so shiny, it popped-out at you. First guy that saw it took it on the spot.

My "new" scoot (’06) also gets cursory wipe-downs. How can you NOT keep these things shiny??

After all, you never know if someone will see your private parts. You can see the reflection of the trees across the track on the very bottom of my BLACK fairing :p

I guess I have to admit, I'm addicted to bike-porn

Yah....welll...that's because yours is an '03. It's a CLASSIC and should be treated that way! :yahoo:

Heck, all Carver has to do is ride his from his driveway, down the dirt road to the paved road (about 2 miles) and his would need washing again.

@ Simon....regarding your title:

"I’m probably going to get kicked off the forum for this"

Probably not....but if a "Jimmy Kick" will do, I'm sure we can find some volunteers. 1 or 2, at least. Maybe more. :yahoo:
