Two of the biggest helps in losing weight for me are eating small meals up to 6 times a day and increasing the amount of water I drink. The small meals or snacks are made up of fruits, veggies, protein a couple of times a day and very little if no sugar. I drink at least 64 oz of water every day. I still have food I like just not as much. As I am losing I am getting more exercise like walking or jogging. I plan some weight training later on.as someone that could loose a few pounds, I'd like to know how those of you who did drop 10-40 pounds, how did you do it?

assuming a linear change in mass to fuel economy (as F= M x A):
New weight + FJR Weight (est. 650#)
---------------------------------------------------- = % mass reduction
Original Weight + FJR Weight (650#)
take original fuel economy / % mass reduction = new fuel economy
( you could use miles per tank or miles per gallon for 'fuel economy')
That is "rule of thumb" or an estimate, based on the rear wheel horsepower / weight ratio. If you assume rear wheel horsepower of the FJR of 128 and a bike weight of 650 + 180 pounds for the rider (830 lbs total), 1 hp = 6.48 lbs. So, every 6.48 lbs. lost is roughly equivalent to adding 1 hp.Wasn't that the CBRXX Forum that did the group weight loss support thing a few years ago? They said 7 lbs = 1 hp IIRC.
Great idea, but not the way you did it.

You almost described the diabetic diet entirely ! Ice water actually will burn calories because your body has to heat up to compensate for the cold (Albeit not much).
I lost 10 lb in the last 2-3 weeks because I had nothing better to do all day except ride my pushbike around and take the dog for walks. My diet changed (expected) but the hit to the wallet was about 20% higher too. I have 4 different exercise buddies if you count the dog as one. There have been some... unintended side effects though.Want to know the secret to weight loss?
There is NO secret. Eat right. Exercise.
Most persons I talk to that have trouble losing weight think of the process as a gimmick rather than a lifestyle change.
Without a doubt, The Abs Diet is the best nutrition and exercise philosophy available. On December 31, 2005, I weighed 233 pounds loaded onto my 6'1.5" frame. Overweight would have been an understatement. I followed the Abs Diet program beginning January 1, 2006, and had lost 35 pounds by May 1, 2006. By December 31, 2006, my weight was 190 pounds. The BEST book I strongly recommend is The Abs Diet....very readable with excellent information, definitely NOT a "diet" book. Teaches you HOW to eat. I have lost 10 lbs and two inches off the beltline after only 6 weeks.
