Sorry for my absence (busy travel days and all that). Here's the update:
After whiling away a quiet Sunday night in Cedar City I made some calls first thing Monday morning. I found a 190-55 PR2 at Moto Zoo in St. George. They said they couldn't mount it for me, so after riding the 60 miles from Cedar City to St. George I picked up the tire and rode the 5 miles to Moto United. I have to say that Mark at Moto United was amazing. He got the bike in immediately, let us stow our luggage and gear under the pool table in the shop, and offered to drive us somewhere for lunch while we waited (as it happened the tire was done very quickly and it was a bit too early for lunch). When I got on the bike with the new tire and complained that I seemed to have no rear brake (turns out it just needed to be "pumped up") Mark insisted on riding it around the parking lot before we left to be sure everything was alright. Great shop, great guys, and they got us on the road by early afternoon. If I'm ever in the area again I'll go out of my way to give Moto United some business.
In case anyone is as dumb as I was at some time in the future, I would add that I rode the last 60-70 miles on the old T-30 with a layer of Shoe Goo on it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to allow enough time for it to fully cure, but even at that it hung in pretty well and kept the wires from getting more exposed (you could just see a hint of a couple of wires when this all started). The Goo was just starting to peel off in one place when I parked at the shop for the tire change, but I have to say it did a pretty damn good job of getting me that last 70 miles at interstate speeds. That said, I was sure glad I was on new rubber for the run through the desert from Hurricane to Fredonia in 100 degree temps!
Again, thanks to all of you for your advice, recommendations, and concern.
