Meet the rest of the group @ Moskowite Corners by 1000.
Damn. I'll have an early get up.
Donny Baby (mind if I call you "Donny Baby," Donny Baby)?--so anyway, Donny Baby, your first rendezvous is not the 10 AM at Monkeyhead Corners, it's 8 AM at my house for sausage and eggs and a home-made Starbucks lattee. From there I will lead you to the Monkeyhead Muskovite Muskox Corners rendezvous by 10 (or you can lead me since you've got the GPS). My house is on the way (well, 4 miles off the freeway you'd be on anyway, namely, 680). It's about 45 minutes to M. Corners from my house.

[snip]

Jb

P.S. And Don, if you need a place to crash overnight 'cause of the long day, mi casa es tu casa....

Good on ya for checking with him. He's got better things goin' like killin' varmits and violating innocent roads with his super-duper-KTM-motard. You'll someday learn that some people got better things to do than sit on their ass on a leather seat for 700miles. Talk about boorrring. Not sure why you're doing it -and I'm sure wayno doesn't either.

But, if you need an escort, let me know. I might be in for meeting up with you in highCA and escorting you back down to Crestville via Vegas. We'll take that town to it's knees Saturday night and have you home in time to repent come Sunday morning. And yes, they'll be lots of repenting to do.

Besides, ...Gotta show you that red tape on my left grip ol' man. Know anything about that? about 12K later ...LOL

Check the trim on your bike and the air in your mullet you ugly redneck ..the weekend is about to start.

Funny you should mention the red tape - true story - my grip puppie split and now my blue fjr sports 3 ribbons of red electrical tape on each grip!
You'll have to take Vegas by urself RJ, this boy has stuff to do Sunday early, this will be a Saturday only ride.

San Jose will be ready at 6:30 and quick coffee (from Hawaii) and restroom available.... BB

[EDIT]

Here's the morning plan for Concord and JB:

1. If Don can make it by 8 7:30 for breakfast, then I will host breakfast for Don and FJROnamission (and O.M. is invited).

2. If Don cannot make it for breakfast, then we will meet at the Starbucks noted above at Treat and N. Main between 8:30 and 8:45 8 and 8:15 to head to M. Corners by NLT 9 8:30.

Jb

P.S. I was just re-reading MadMike2's post about the ride and how they're gonna leave by 10 an all that and if you're late sayonara. We'd be cutting it close if we leave Concord at 9 to get there by 10 (since there's no crossing DLs  on some of the scenic roads on the way). And on top of that we'd have no visiting time before the group left.

So by tonight we (JB, Don, FJROAM) need to nail down some reasonable times. I'd say if I had my druthers, I'd rather leave Concord by NLT 8:30. Above post edited accordingly....

Radios on channel 1?

P.P.S. TWN, I don't see you in this post. What are you--a pussy! :p

I get up early..... you guys call it.... just give me a window time to arrive in San Jose... that way I won't walk outside in my underware.... (thong)... wait.. TMI

Fjronamission and JB, how about -

  1. 2:15 Leave Hondarosa
  2. 6:15 Arrive Fjronamission (Fjrm)
  3. 6:30 Leave Fjrm for JB
  4. 07:30 arrive JB
  5. 08:25 leave Jb for Moskow corners
  6. 10:00 arrive Moscow corners
  7. and so forth and so on.
I have both your cell phone numbers and you mine. Will call Fjrm when approx 15 minutes away. Same for JB. If for some reason I get delayed will call both of you and meet at Moskow corners or whatever.

Hey JB, did you catch the 02:15 start time?

I think I'll call to let you know I've left on time!

That's a plan! I look forward to seeing you two.

Yes I did, you crazy nut! Please be careful out there in the dark. I'm gonna be worried about you (not that I'll lose any ZZZZZzzzzzz's over it.... ).

Now, I know you have GPS an' all. But again, my exit is Treat Blvd. off 680 north. It's just a mile or so past the Hwy 24 junction. Turn right at the bottom of the off-ramp onto Treat. It's 4 miles, or 10 minutes, to my neighborhood (Turtle Creek). When you get onto Treat, which is 3 lanes in each direction with a median center, PLEASE be alert for left-turners, particularly in and out of shopping centers. Treat can move pretty aggressively, albeit probably not at that hour.

And oh yeah--"Fang! Remind me to turn the phones off when we go to bed!" :p

We're in - two up! [assuming my bike gets out of the shop as scheduled]. I am having a major service done before NAFO. Let's see . . . . final drive oil change and rear shaft lube; valve guide check; new cam chain tensioner and related parts; plugs; TBS; new front tire; coolant change and system inspection; new battery; swing arm lube . . . . what am I forgetting?
...The doggie in your top case?
Oh Yeah -- beauty parlor for the Doggy in the top case.

Attention, bay area ride planners. You might want to check on highway information. Some of the "scenic" roads (Like Suisun Valley/Wooden Valley) were reported closed because of the fire. One assumes you've considered taking 29 through Napa and perhaps Monticello Rd. or Silverado Trail North and Right on 128. I'd bet that Pleasant Valley Rd. (2nd offramp after Airbase Parkway) to 128 is open.

Breakfast in West Sacramento:

For those interested...Bakers Square, 1235 Harbor Blvd, just South of I-80. 0730-ish!?!?

That should give us time to have some good eats and some time to visit, then top-off the gas tanks @ the Chevron and wander around aimlessly while we wait for the Rogdebs.....[SIZE=8pt]if someone is late picking up the grand-kiddies![/SIZE]

WARNING: You might want to "tread lightly" at the breakfast buffet. For lunch, The Union Hotel provides quite a spread, all served "family style". Bread sticks and olive oil, fresh green salad, minestrone soup then the main course of your choice.

IIRC, the lasagna is a rectangle about 4" x 8" and 2-2 1/2" thick.....and very good, too. Spaghetti or ravioli are full dinner plates, even their hamburgers are "huge".

I'm just saying.......perhaps you should bring a small cooler for "left overs".
