IBR Help! Leaking Rear Drive

Nice, I missed it due to working on my bike, glad you took pictures. It was a good day for the PNW crew for valve checks and cam chain tensioner replacement.

Wash the darn thing next time before we work on it Adam. That thing was as dirty as a old 53 Cevy that had never seen a wrench!

The tools were first rate and awesome Gearman's loaner tools and the link to follow for the repair is great Final drive repair. ANd Skooter's final drive 101 thread is a great help too.

With the right tools this is a very easy job.

Was the gear coupling replaced or just the seals?

This photo shows the two tools (the top two) needed, as well as the four items that were replaced. I received them from MDisher.

I could not determine which seal was faulty. I still have them so I could just give them a look and see if anything is obvious.

Those tools are very, very nice! They made the job pretty easy to do. Once we had finished, we were all pretty surprised with how simple it was to just change the seal and o-ring.

Yeah, that driveshaft was in there pretty good. All it needed was a some persuasion.

Being the concerned parent....I probably would have just been in the way!
