Know how you feel Patriot. I was pressured into retirement by plant closure and can't believe how hard it is to get and use the money you saved for 34 years. There is always some tax hidden in there. Was the Fjr your only bike?

yep, bought it and sold/retired my Vulcan Cruizer and classic Goldwing.

now, I love it so much, it's the ONLY bike I'll ride. I don't think I'd accept a friend offering to loan me his spare bike that's not an FJR. I love the bike that much.

Yeah, in my circumstances, I found out if I pull $10k out, I will lose $1800 net by the end of next year. My circumstance are pretty unique, but that's the reality.

Anybody want to loan me $5k against the guaranteed $5k tax refund I'll receive by Feb 28th ???

let's ride safe and be careful out there,

Mike in Nawlins'

Don't know yer circumstance, but if ya need to pull money out of an IRA and your on disablity you can do it without paying penalties. (I did it a couple years ago to pay off some bills and buy my connie)

Yeah, but it's counted as income and my kids loose their state sponsored health insurance and I lose my Earned Income Credit tax refund. Yikes

Mike, your situation truly sucks!

Here's an idea: Do you have any sort of an account with your local Credit Union? They are much more likely to be willing to work something out with you. Perhaps you could arrange a one pay contract, due when your EIC payout occurs. You could offer your existing investment account(s) as collateral for the loan.

That would not diminish the investment account because you are not actually withdrawing anything from it; it would not affect your kid's medical help, because it is not reportable as income, putting you in another bracket..., etc.

You would no doubt have to pay interest on the amount of the funds received, but typically CU's offere a much better rate that banks. I financed my 06 at my CU a year and a half ago, and was charged 4.54%. When I paid it off early I was only out a minor amount for the interest because there were no pre-payment penalties.

Please look into it, my friend. There is a way to make this work!

Wishing you the best of luck!!! B)

It's good to see so many sincere offers of help. Here's another: the winning lottery numbers, guaranteed. They're 7, 22 34, 40, 47, and 51. I don't know the date, though. Or which state. Good luck.

But you'll get through this. I wrecked my Feejer last year, replaced it this year, and now the no-feej period is just a blur in my memory. I almost bought one down New Orleans way this spring. And folks, Mike, who I've never met, offered to come pick me up at the airport and buy me some jumbalaya, and a beer too, as I recall, if I did it. Which reminds me, Mike, I would have been able to fly there one-way from Sacramento for $109. That might make it easier to expand your search.

Hope things work out, pal. And by the way,

". . . (yes, I'm a leg man...but others say "Mike, you're a *** Man !!! ) . . . "
Or did they say "Mike, you're a ***, Man." ?? Better find out. It could be important. :D

Run Mike run -- from another post in this Forum -- a wrecked '08 for $1,500. We can get this Gen II engine to work in your Gen I, it's worth the work at this price.
