If Wheaton really goes for good that will suck donkey dong...

The admins do a great job and the forum is free, so how much can we really complain?

But they can be heavy-handed. I learned that when I became involved in WFO10. It was scheduled for my hometown. I sent some PM's, volunteered to help out, and pretty much nothing happened after that. Then the event was unceremoniously cancelled due to "lack of interest" or "lack of participation." I knew from behind the scenes that the organizers were just MIA when things were needing to be planned.

I then had the outrageous and radical idea that maybe people who already planned to come here could come here anyway, and we could all put on our big boy pants, pull off the FJR forum training wheels and ride our bikes without the powers that be to supervise.

As the idea gained momentum, out of the blue I received an ass-chewing from those on-high informing me that my activities were desecrating the sanctity of the WFO label. I responded, letting it be known that while i appreciate the forum, my plans to ride with some friends in the real world were not subject to some internet police authority. The thread was moved from WFO to somewhere else, WTF.0 was born, and we all got together and had a hell of a time. And by the way, there hasn't been a WFO since.....

So, while I really, really like this forum, I still have a bitter taste about the way that particular issue was handled.

Am pretty new here. Haven't been NEPRT'd yet- must just be lucky so far. I try really hard to search for existing info on things I'm interested in, but hardly ever get anything useful from a search. Have found that the search tool sucks- have tried to find a previously read thread I know the exact name of but STILL don't have any luck. Have had better luck finding stuff on this site using google, plus have resorted to bookmarking permalinks on useful threads.

Given such a poor search environment, it's just a matter of time before I get NEPRT'd. That makes me very reluctant to participate on this forum other than lurking. Hence, no further questions or comments at this time.

After 10 years on the Forum(s), where things used to be like your neighborhood bar...a community where you shared, cried, played jokes on one another. I'm done with Iggy...and Bounce.
I love the people in this place, but getting timeouts a number of times for silly shit is kindergarten stuff. Coming back from a gathering you organized to find you can't login.

Back in the day, mods were different, and this place used to have a banter...but I guess that the Great Iggy has a no banter rule.

I love the people, hate some of the mods...send me PMs over at FJRiders if you want to talk about upcoming trips or whatever.

History...

...and a little Timmy send off for Iggy. https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//public/style_emoticons/default/****.gif
I find it sad and somewhat discouraging when someone who has as many years (and posts) on this forum as you feels that he has no option but to leave. Wheaton, I've enjoyed reading most of your posts and would hate to see you go. I'm hoping that you and the moderator(s) with whom you're having problems can have a private discussion and find a middle ground that will let you feel welcome here again. IMHO, you've been a large part of the personality of this forum.

OK I can't stand this anymore. For those of you that don't know me, I am NOT 35.

I was however 35 when I had to add a number or something to my name for an internet nick.

Those that do know me will attest that it has been a very long time since I was 35.

I have seen forums, channels, and BBS's come and go, like civilizations throughout history they rise and fall.

The new place on the block will promise "change" much like our nations management.

The old place gets oppressive, any opinion not in line with the admins is squashed. People don't feel free to participate and after those that added valued content are gone it dies a slow agonizing death.

Reading thru old content here I have seen some great info from some very bright people. Many are no longer around. I can't help but wonder where / why they went.

I would hope that those that make decisions here realize that without these bright individuals and eager participants THEIR forum has no hope of survival.

Chuck(35), I can't LIKE this enough! :))

... Lo and Behold I'm being sued by yamafitter for damages at the Nord du Ligne Provincial Building in Ottawa, Frostbackland.
The charges are I defamed Billy Fitz by saying he had a Rob Ford for Mayor sticker on his snowmobile, plus a Habs sticker!
I am OK with the Habs sticker but Rob Ford for Mayor!!??

You sir went too far. If you say you are super sorry you will only have to move to Kapuskasing.

Wait a second...You're lying about your age? On the Internet?? I'm telling!!

I sure hope that Wheaton at least has the decency to sneak back in and admire the anthill he kicked over. I'd hate to think that we have this much excitement going on and he does not even know about it.

I've seen more "likes" in this thread than you see trailers at Sturgis.

Me too! Although, he's pretty stubborn once he sets his mind on something. I'm thinking that he must have been pissed off as hell to start this. Let's hope he chills and comes back to the sandbox and continues to play with us. It could be worse... Until we are all banned, it's fun to still poke an eye every once in a while. ;-0

Yeah, that's B.S. Like changing your user-name when you change states.
Or bikes.

This thread definitely belongs in NEPRT. If Weaties had done a search, he'd have found several threads like this already exist and not posted at all or resurrected those threads and added to them.

I have been off of the forum for two years because I sold my FJR. This week I bought back my old FJR and began watching the forum again. My observation is there is not nearly as much participation as there was two years ago on the forum. There are still a few of the same people posting, but the majority of the members I see posting are new to me.

The forum still has great information because not alot of things have changed, but I was disappointed to see an obvious drop in participation and contribution. Contribution in the form of technical FJR information or just chit chat.

I don't know what the issues have been or continue to be, but it sure would be nice of things were as they used to be.
