I've had the FJR a week now. Yesterday I took it out for 120 or so miles on the twisties. What a great machine! It handles so well, and my goodness! The power! It's definitely NOT your father's touring bike, is it!? :D

How does it compare to your Triumph?

The weather here in northern Virginia is absolutely prefect for riding this weekend. I got out yesterday and managed 100+ miles on my FJR. What a great machine! :yahoo:

"Great machine" is the general consensus around here. There are always the critics, but for the most part, everyone loves the feejer. Most of the complaints are nit-pickers, and the, general concerns, do rise to the top and are dealt with when they occur (for the most part anyway). Two thumbs up for my review as well; glad you're love'n your bike.

How does it compare to the Triumph? Hmm...the Thruxton has low, clip-on bars, so for now I can corner quicker on it. I'm sure it's just a getting-used-to thing, because technically speaking, the FJR will HAVE to handle better. (Monoshock vs. twin springs and all) The low bars kill your wrists at low speed, making the FJR much more comfy. The FJR seat is far more comfy too. And power...Well let's see 69 hp vs 145...well, you get the idea. Don't get me wrong, I love the Thruxton, it's great fun to ride, and a real head-turner, not to mention, it sounds great with glass-packs, but it's no good for two up riding, so I had to have something else. We checked outh the Triumph Sprint ST, but the seat was no good for her. I'd already fallen for the FJR a week or so before anyway. the guy that had before put on Heli risers, Throttlemeister, and wired it for a heated suit. I've already ordered a Givi trunk. I'm looking forward to the Mrs. and I going on a state park tour. The Thruxton could never do that, but what it does, it does well.
