The error I see most often on curvy roads is the tendency of many motorcyclist to corner near the centerline. Cruisers seem to abuse this unsafe procedure more than others. However, whether "barely" in your lane or not, Bubba in his pick up truck is going to rule the road. The number of head on, side impact, and side swiping collisions make it clear this is a fault we ALL need to avoid.

The interstate is boring though, so 2-lanes and staying right with ATGATT seem like a decent compromise.
I second the motion....

Read the first 9 pages. Obviously written by a statistician in search of a doctorate. In the first 9 pages I read I must of read the same stats at least 3 times. That is to say that I read the same stats at least 3 times in the first 9 pages. The first 9 pages contain all the stats of the document that are repeated throughout the document. Within the first 9 pages of this document you will find all that stats that will be repeated throughout the document.

:dribble:

Okay now that nonsense is over. I like how they state "the motorcycle struck the othe vehicle". No SH*T Sherlock. When the cager pulls out in front of you, you will strike the other vehicle. Masters of the obvious. NOW, for the speeding comment. WHO said they were speeding? The vehicle that was struck? Oh that is what the dipsh*t said that flipped a b*tch in front me a couple of yrs ago. Of course the officer said, "I don't care if he was, you are at fault". DOH!

Anywho, having suffered through a stats class, you can make them read whatever you want. SO, what I get from this is, "take the cars off the road and there will be less accidents involving motorcycles striking a vehicle". I do agree with the statements in the posts, that the middle age demographic is climbing. Freakin' tail end baby boomers going through their mid-life crisis and not taking the proper training.

The GF just got done taking the MSF course and they told the class that they will track them through their motorcycle riding life as to, accidents and such.

"In 68 percent of the rear-end crashes involving motorcycles and passenger vehicles,

the role of the motorcycle was recorded as the striking vehicle."

Can't stop the mc?

"44% were single vehicle accident"...... training, training

While you may not like the report, this is the kind of data that's used to make policy decisions.
