Thank exskibum

So, basically it is worth then the mafia? You pay your dues but get nothing in return and even law most likely wont help you. Maybe I should listen to Rad and Murph then...

I appreciate your reply.

Life's not fair. Welcome to reality. Its a $200 problem, and you're going to spend at least that much with an attorney to get it sorted out, plus you'll continue to inflame the ill-will that already appears to be in play.

Life's short. Pick your battles.

I'm with ex on this one.

My experience with HOA's was not positive and very similar to yours.

We had issues putting up a fence where a fence existed prior, lucky for us the corner posts were there so we were able to consider it a 'repair'.

Albeit we didn't fence a common area ;)

My advice, since you're not doing anything crazy like installing a fence or a stripper pole, would be to just fix it yourself, dig it up, get some dirt, plant some seed or use sod if you'd like. 10x 4 doesn't seem like a big area to me.

Then promptly sell that place when the market turns and chalk it up to a HOA lesson learned.

:)

or you could try politely badgering them to death. show up at every meeting, get yourself on the agenda (or however it works) and very sincerely ask if there's any funds left to take care of your yard for your children. work the sympathy route (kids), be consistent but polite. maybe they'll get tired of seeing you there asking for the same thing over and over and finally grant your wish just to get rid of you. at least everyone else at the meeting will see that they are not responding to your consistent, polite request and maybe they'll get voted off eventually?

fjrchik,

I am the only one besides two more people out of 63 units that show up for every meeting besides those two that I missed when my second was born. I just looked up the paperwork and I have trail going back to 2002. To no avail.

Thank you all for your responses but mostly what I am hearing is that I should roll and just take it. Pay out of my pocket and forget about it. What is next? Where is this supposed to end? No wonder the world is laughing at us. No wonder politicians are sticking us with all kinds of ****.

Punishment will continue until moral is improved.

Thank you again for your time and willingness to reply.

late entry..sorry. Been busy lately.

If you can wait until spring, my dad a small tiller I could probably borrow. As small as the patch is, we could get it done one afternoon after teaching.

Think about it.

Till it, throw some dirt at it, throw some seeds. Like I said, an afternoon, maybe 2
