Are any FJR riders doing an instate JS1K on Oct 15? I'm doing Florida instate - prolly more then me doing it, but my sched is tight this weekend so couldn't go somewhere else.

I'll be doing one in Colorado with a friend. Should be fun, and interesting! Route is scheduled to go over Wolf Creek Pass right at dusk and they got 3 feet of snow and opened for skiing last weekend! Its suppose to be warm all this week though, so hopefully the roads are clear!

I'm heading over to Montana and doing the instate there, trying to knock out a 2,000 gold at the same time

Doing this JS1K is a great event to be a part of!

Wouldn't it be great to arrange a FJR 50 state 1K?

Low and Silent and I are doing a BBG and the Jack Shoalmire ride in MT as well Alchemy! Good luck on yours. Maybe we will pass each other. What is your route?

I have talked to another IBA member that is doing ID. His partner is doing WY and I think another guy may do Nort DaColder if his bike problems are worked out by the weekend. It would be really interesting to watch all these spot tracks!

Looking pretty basic: St. Regis- Forsyth-St.Regis. Projected start time will be 1230p for the Mt. portion. The start of the 2,000 is at 0400 though.

I'll keep an eye out for other loonies running around out there ;)

BTW- Carl Stark is doing Wyoming

Do you have a projected time for Forsyth? We'll be there around the later afternoon, early evening. If you're starting in St. Regis at noon, we'll be passing you sometime in the evening as we move westbound. Our route starts in Bonners Ferry, ID and moves across Montana clockwise, putting us on I-90 for the darker hours, before heading back north at CD'A.

Shouldn't be hard to miss two FJR's. We'll keep an eye out for you as well.

Forsyth is projected for 747pm. I should be ahead of the schedule though. If I'm on low beam I only have 1 light showing. HID's are the replacement and that won't be until we are back from the Bakersfield rally on the 22nd.

5:32 PM is projected for us. If you're ahead of schedule and we're a little behind perhaps we'll bump into you. I'm not sure how the traffic across the top of Montana will be. I have done a short stretch of US-2 before during the GBU, but nothing in the eastern 5/6 of Montana. Squeal has done it though.

I'll be on the lookout for a one-eyed FJR. If night has started to fall I'll be running my 1800 LED's and in the lead. That should make it a little easier to spot us, especially out in those flat-lands.

Just a little FYI:

Last month I got pulled over for running 80 in a 75??????? Sole reason was because:

a) I was on a bike

B) it was midnight or so

c) an abundance of wildlife

yep, he pulled me over to let me know there were deer out, duh- that's why I was only doing 80-83. Anyway, no ticket, just a word of advice about recent bike vs deer encounters.

That was western Montana closer to North Dakota.

Ha! If that happens to us I'll just show him the photos from one of the Bambi's I took out a few months ago.

We'll definitely be keeping an eye out for those things. I'm expecting to be seeing quite a few.

Have fun guys! I was all ready and loaded up to go last night but I've encountered a bit of a vision problem that escalated and am on doctors orders not to wear contacts. With out them I'm as good as blind, so riding is out for me this weekend. Bummed to leave my ridding buddy riding by himself, and bummed I don't get to do a kick butt 1,000 mile twisty ride, but I better save my vision. And, the weather is supposed to be gorgeous tomorrow, and I'm stuck here, with a laptop 4 inches off of my face typing this! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Group SPOT looks cool:

I just had to log in here to razz you for missing the ride :yahoo:

It was a good ride, although I didn't get any sleep the night before, thank god I slept till 12 the day before :) - the temp swings were a bit nuts over the day, lowest was high 20's over La Veta Pass, and highs were 80's in Gateway, all the way down to Cortez. Now if I had one of those FJR barge windshields... :p
