My '08 Feejer and '08 Zuk GSX650F needed a new play mate. Just closed deal on a super clean, low mileage (12.5K) 2003 FZ1. Will pick it up this weekend. Anyone have experience with this bike? Loved the test ride...bike really screams with the Ivan jet kit and Scorpion slip on.

Oh ya, I've got an 08 I bought last year with all the engine mods to help him breathe. Lots of fun but hard on tires

Plenty of good information at the FZ1 forum and FZ1OA forum.

Congrats on the new member, I love the Gen1 Bee and Skunk colors. After you spend more time on the FZ1 I think the GSX650F may be looking for a new home in the future.

I spent a few days collecting intel on those 2 sites before I pulled the trigger on my purchase. Great info there! Nice looking Gen II by the way!

:) thanks. I think I'd like to keep the GSX650F for commuting because of the great gas mileage. I plan on using the FZ1 for spirited riding on weekends. Of course my Feejer will be my long distance and hauling bike. Cant beat it for moving long distances at brisk paces. ;)

I think you should collect the whole Yamaha F-Series in various colors. That is, if you can keep your licence now that you have the 1

I understand about the mileage, it cost over $20 to fill the FJR, I have a R6 for the track not the best commutting bike, I'm think I will upgrade to a PC-V because the map on the PCIII is not the best for mileage, but it puts a smile on my face.

I read a ride review on the FZ8...it made my boy parts feel....tingly!

Great looking FZ1, congrats on the purchase! Almost made the leap way back then...but the mighty ZRX had already stole my heart. ;)

My 1st choice was a ZRX 1200R, but down here in da swamps, they are almost impossible to find. I got the FZ1 tonite, and put 60 miles on it...cool bike! Very light feeling compared to the Feejer, and wickedly quick. :)

2nd gear 70mph wheelies (or so I have read  ) are common. Funny thing is without the faring of the Feejeer I prefer to cruise under 75 on the 1. We all know the FJR likes 85 or more.

I run the PR2 on my FZ1 and they stick just fine but I did find out you can leave darkies coming out of a nice tight curve sometimes.

My son keeps his "07" FZ1 in my bike shop. It's a great, fun, fast ride.

His passion for the sportier side of riding is how I ended up with my 2004 FJR. I could not play well with my Road Star but now I can pretty much keep up.

Have fun

Very nice looking bike, Jay. You are right, that thing is super clean.

The only bad thing about buying a clean bike like that is the requirements for keeping it that way. ;)

Ride safe.
