The GTR concept looks very promising & attractive in Trinibob‘s CW scan. Let’s hope they don’t castrate it in the power department and leave the base ZX-14 motor alone if it becomes reality. Personally, I would still be very happy with just the current ZX-14 to have the option of hard-bags & ABS. Love to see the competition heating things up!

Such speculation has been going on for years. The Connie replacement is WAY overdue. I'll believe it's for real when I see it produced and up for sale.

I've been waiting for years for Kawi to replace the obsolete Connie. And I got tired of waiting, did some research and voila!... the FJR is on it's way!! :D

Well...BD if that's the case...give me the ZX-14 and throw on the bags! LOL

The addition of shaft drive, luggage and compromised aerodynamics will slow it down sufficiently. They better be quicker & faster than the FJR, or keep some on the showroom floor if they hope to sell 'em.

Oh Great...just when I was starting to feel comfortable about saving my Road King Custom for special events and jumping onto the Feeger bandwagon; a Kawa contender looms over the horizon !!! I've owned both Yamaha and Kawasaki and could be happy with either I'm sure....this new competition would raise the bar on all sport touring bikes, this model type is the new baby boomer market and I'm thrilled at the possibilities!

Thanks, but I'll save my coin for something a little less fugly.

Even if it looked better, I'd need to see more of the spec sheet before getting too excited.

No thanks! That thing looks like its been hit with the Uglystick set on Overdrive! :cyclops:

I couldn't bring myself to ride something that looks that bad. I'll stick with my Feejer, thanks.

Regardless of it's looks, Kaw will sell a TON to the Connie loyalists right off the bat. Wouldn't surprise me to see them outsell the FJR.

On the plus side is is uglier than the FJR by a long shot....... looks kinda frumpie and I'm guessing alittle goofy without the bags

And two, that would almost suredly force Yamaha to offer the bikes in showrooms to compete.

And three, both all manufactureres would do some upgrading to counter the new big boy on the block.

Will be interesting..... I love Kawie's and would come out just about replacement time for ole blue.

If the Batbike's it, fughedabowdit. Trinis looks better, but still-something about Kaws just puts me off, can't put a finger on it, but...... ;)

-I'm not so sure...to me, it seems Connie owners have remained loyal because of the bike's low price, despite the fact it's 20 yr. old technology. I think current owners might look and drool, but get sticker shock; Kawi might actually sell more of these to new customers, especially if this new machine is readily available without the g**damn PDP program....just might make Yamaha rethink the whole PDP deal...

I don't anticpate Yamaha dropping the PDP in the US on the FJR anytime soon.

I am however looking forward to an ST version of the ZX14, which will allow me to walk into a stealership at any time and drool all over it. :agent:

B) Friends ,After reading all there is about the different physical problems &

personal observations about the '03 -'05 bikes (you know all those things) I'm

very hopeful that the waiting has been justified for my '06A.I did get to ride an'05

last year @ Americade,so I think I'm ahead of the curve in that respect.I know 3

guys near me that haven't even sat on one,let along experience the "Smile" factor ! In regards to this Kawasaki,I think the competition is great for us.If I start

to run into alot of replacement pieces just to get the bike to suit me,I may run the

thing for this season & when that GTR 1400 comes along I'll give it a test ride ! As it was said before,I would miss all the great folks on these boards. But that bike

sure looks like it has it all ! I wonder if it has the electric windsheild ?? Sliick2
