'Pants this adventure had me nervous, it really did. Our hearts were in the right place but Pop and I did not like keeping you in the dark. While Pop and I were loading your gear into his truck for "The Ride Home", he looked at me and said, "I don't like lying to the man". I will not blame it all on G Squared, Pop and I took responsibility also. But it sure turned out well. The completely surprised look on your face and your obvious happiness was worth it.
Funny how distinctive the FJR sound is to us, we all recognized that rumble instantly on the salesfloor. Considering how many ATVs were rolling in and out of there and all the other noise, as soon as Big Red came into the room we all knew it.
Pop really wanted to be there when you took delivery of your new bike, he was extremely happy for you. When you left it was raining on us before we made it to his truck. I made a comment about you riding your brand new bike in the rain. Pop said, "He knows what he is doing. It wouldn't bother me or you, it damned sure won't bother him." He has confidence in you.
The Real Hero of this story is actually the FJR Forum. I met hppants through this forum. I started following hppants because of this forum. I drug my Dad into following along because of this forum. Information and an invitation posted by SkooterG led to 'Pants and I taking Demo Rides on the '14 ES and 'Pants meeting G Squared. Because of this forum my FJR riding salesman became our friend G Squared. Because of this forum and its support network I never considered buying any other bike and apparently neither did hppants. This forum has been a very powerful force for us. It has also cost me a boat load of money in motorcycles and everything it takes to make them go.
This pic is from the day I met hppants. Left to right, hppants, Mvette, his grandson, and Patriot. Both Ole Blue bikes have since been traded into G Squared at Friendly Yamaha.
This one is from a dreary February day when two fools were trying to convince themselves that their current bikes were just as good as the Gen 3 FJR they had just ridden. I knew better. I think hppants did too.
