I'm surprised I didn't get the email announcing this blasphemous act considering the investment I've made over the years in red wax.

But I do tend to be a glass half full type of gent so here's to my liver lasting another day longer. I need to start making plans.

Are you a Maker's Mark ambassador? Those are the only people that got the emails.

I got accused of drinking at a traffic stop, must be this Makers Mark cigar. He didn't believe me until I showed him the red wax on the glass cigar tube,

Latest I saw was due to this forum discussion the MM has canceled their plan to add water

and to just deal with the Bourbon shortage. Good job guys.

Interesting little factoid from that article...

"Kentucky produces 95 percent of the world's bourbon supply, according to the Kentucky Distillers' Association. There are 4.9 million bourbon barrels aging in Kentucky, which outnumbers the state's population."

I am both pleased and surprised. Bill Samuels said that they gave the idea a lot of thought, but focused on the wrong things. I think they would have been OK with it had they publicised the decision along with information on how bourbon is bottled. It was the media that hyped that they were "watering down" the bourboun while ignoring that water dilution is a part of the process already. I bought a bottle of Maker's 46 yesterday and a bottle of Glenfiddich 12. I thought about buying some more regular Maker's as they had plenty. Guess I don't need to worry about it now (not that I was worried anyway). I would have been intersted in trying the 84 proof just out of curiosity.
