Mike, I'm not one to think we need to take legal action, and I'm not one to get set up for unrealistic expectations.  But I certainly sypathize with anyone who put down a $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit six months in advance - under the guise that it is then only way to buy this motorcycle (meaning no "legitimate" dealer inventory of the bike).
I believe that people who were told they would get March delivery have every right to complain.  Yamaha has set themselves up for criticism via the whole process they have imlemented for buying an FJR.  Sure, we'll all be happy six months from now, but no harm in allowing us to vent our frustrations now (not that I am in that group - YET!).
If you would try and read between the lines, you would see that is exactly the point we have been trying to make. I certainly ordered mine having never sat on an FJR and having never seen one. Based on the riding I was doing on the Concours and the trips on the XS110, I knew this was the bike for me. I rode most of the Spring/Summer season on the Connie, wishing for the FJR.

Most of us have Been There, Done That. We have the T-shirt, the decal, the program and the ticket stub. While it is fair game to "Waiter Bait", I would hope you understand that we are graduates of the same program! Note my original post: I took my planned vacation on the Connie because my FJR hadn't arrived in July as promised.

The only difference between youse guys and us'ns is that we are survivors of the process and broken promises. If you guys would go back and look at the posts from the last 2 years (Other Board, Joos' site, Hmarc's site) you'd read the same arguments, threats, opinions and inferences that are currently being posted. Anxious waiters sharing their angst! So we're having a little fun at your expense, at least you know it was born in our common shared experience.

Until something changes, there'll be a whole new crop of waiters to use for target practice next year. :haha: Now, back to my regularly scheduled task of "Waiter Baiting": Bwaaaahaaaahaaa...I told you so! C'mon Cypress, puh-leeze deliver one on April 1st! Perdy Puh-leeze? :haha:

I talked to my dealer yesterday morning, sure enough with a little digging he found exactly the fine message from Yaameehaha (izz that them laffinn at us dummies???) about the "delay". BS! With bikes being delivered all over Europe and Australia(?), but not here I sure would like to know why...and get my supposedly sitting in a crate in CA, FJR...NOW! The bags can follow asap, just like last year.

This continued (yearly) late arrival of the bikes by Yamaha USA is past rediculous. My '03, which was supposed to be delivered in Aug...arrived in Nov. One time of this crud is more than enough! If I do finally get this FJR methinks it will most likely be the very last tuning fork product I will ever buy. Treatment like this is simply not acceptable! DFO  :bleh: :bleh: :bleh:

And don't forget there are AE waiters here, too. We are expected to get our bikes in what, June? We are waiters squared. And who knows if the production electronic clutch is going to be bugless or something else on this new model ends up causing a delay. And I paid my deposit just as early as everyone else.

Speaking of that, are they shipping AE's in Europe or elsewhere yet?

Like I posted before, I'm keeping my '04 until AFTER I get my AE, just in case it sucks (unlikely from reading recent postes) or it's late getting delivered and I need a ride to NFO (IFO?WFO?) in Reno.

I'm #8 for the AE at D&H as far as I know. Wonder if they will get a whole truckload of them at the same time so I can get mine right quick. Yes, I am a little anxious!

It sure is fun watching the waiters get their panties all knotted up as the expected deliver date gets close. A satisfying privelege of being a former waiter.

Advice: Spend your time planning your farkles and getting your schedules in order to allow the riding time you'll enjoy so much. Much better for you body and mind than complaining about Yamaha. And more productive.

yeah, um already did that. october through march. all farkles are here, waiting to be installed. way ahead of ya!

and also for those that like to say that we aren't missing prime riding season like past year waiters were forced to, please keep in mind that here in the south - november through may is prime riding season. my 03 FJR got very little use last "summer" (may through october) cause it was hotter than it's been in 5 years. and that little heat issue suddenly turned into a big one. so it feels like a year since i've done some consistent riding.

my panties are so wadded up they've turned into a thong! :bleh:

Yeah, I would never let mine hang out of my pants. Totally not classy.

I'm in Georgetown, Ky... just West of Paris.

Unfortunately there is a fair amount of truth to the photo scenario you posted above.

Back to the subject at hand: NO FJR delivery........ My dealer tried yesterday to get my bike pried loose from Yaamaahaha's corporate grip; they refused to ship it and apparently got somewhat "nasty" about the request. It was pointed out to Yamaha that with bikes being delivered every place but the USofA and the bikes being here, sans bags...why not just deliver the bike now (like they did last year) and send the bags on asap. Nope...will not do it.

The Yamaha PDP has me PPO...Perfectly Pissed OFF, and their apparently arrogant Corporate attitude towards us "mere" customers is galling. About the only thing holding this 1 way "deal" together is my dealer: they are the opposite of Yamaha and are very cooperative and willing to try to assist. OTOH Yamaha can....well one could think of various things...couldn't one? DFO <_<

This all makes me glad that I walked in and bought mine off the dealer's floor last year. I was riding one the day after I decided I wanted one :p

NOW -- I'm done, and awaiting incoming flack.
Have you seen the avatar of shame? The last guy who posted four in a row can tell you all about it.
Just trying to get my post count up to the level you guys have

"A Scouser" and proud of it Mike :D
You will have to do much better at posting, since the complainer of your postings merely has TEN plus times your posts being here a grand total of 13 days longer than you.

I visited my Yamaha dealer on March 24th to confirm if there really is a delay. I ordered my FJR on Oct. 4th & was scheduled for a March delivery.

Ken is the owner (& a major distributor in New York) who is a square shooter & not a B.S. artist. He went on line right in front of me, to his dealer delivery list & confirmed that my order has been pushed back two weeks.

He also stated that he has had past experiences with this, and that the time line is usually a worst case senario & usually the bikes are shipped sooner. Sure hope he is right.

Only Time Will Tell. B)

I just saw a post from a friend of mine in Vancouver, BC. Her FJR is in and she'll pick it up next Thursday.

Hope mine isn't far behind!
