Motorcycles are not inherently dangerous, but they are extremely unforgiving.

I think that "smulched" pretty much says it all.

I should have bought a lottery ticket the same day. I pretty much walked away with a grade III AC seperation (see avitar pic) some bruised ribs and a new understanding of the the word FOCUS!

Greg

Still waiting for the ins guy to take a look...........

Are you still feeling smulched or improved to just putzy?

Michael, I was feeling up to putzy yesterday, then I had a conversation with Burk about his insurance woes and I think I am getting ready to get smulched again.... Hope not, but best to be prepared to fight the good fight. I have time on my side for once, and I intend to use it if necessary.

I have discovered that I have pretty much full range of motion in my shoulder, which is good. The bad part is I have to use my left arm to make my right arm do anything in front of me (like scratching my left arm) I am hoping that I will be back to normal in a week or two. Considering how this could have ended differently for me, I am one happy effin camper!

Range of motion: GOOD!

Normal in a week or two: MAYBE!

I had a shoulder separation (along with broken ribs and a punctured lung about 5 years ago) and the physical therapy to regain strength took 5-6 weeks. And I'm aggressive about rehab.

IIRC, I couldn't lift a 5 lb. weight and started with 1 1/2 lbs for the first week, then graduated to 5 lbs and then to 10 lbs. Plus the infamous "rubber band" over the door jam exercises.

However, I had a longer period of inactivity because of the time it took for the rib injuries to heal so there was more atrophy to overcome. I DO remember what a big deal I thought it was when I could scratch my nose with my right hand....unaided by my left.

I hope you are more fortunate.
