Actually, I use a RAM mount.

If I remember, I bought it from https://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/RAM/ and I use this one, a magnetic mount. It's attached using the clutch/brake reservoir mount that bolts through the clamp for clutch reservoir.

It's worked well for me for 30K miles or so.....

See it on the left:

I've had my V-1 setting directly on the brake or clutch master cylinder using standard Velcro/hook-and-loop on three different bikes for ~200,000 miles without incident.

That's what I did before I went to the Garauld bracket. The positive connection of the V-1's power cord allows it act like a tether, increasing the safety margin, but it can still be a little hairy in heavy crosswinds, which is why I moved to the bracket and velcro cinch strap.

Industrial Strength Velcro after cleaning all surfaces to stick to vigorously with common rubbing alcohol

the rubber band below is a "keeper" to prevent the power wire/plug from falling out on it's own

it's been replaced by one of my daughters black poney tail elastic hair keepers - I also considered using an appropriate sized O ring - I wanted the bike to look nice 'n neat...

Here's what I use. It works on either reservoir, can be moved fore and aft by rotating it 180 degrees, and it's quick and easy to mount and remove the detector using the velcro strap. Plus, Garauld's workmanship is second-to-none.Garauld's reservoir-mounted radar detector bracket

Gunny +100.

I mounted mine on the right side. easier to access with the left hand, my right hand is busy... ;)

I've used Industrial Strength Velcro (available at home improvement and hardware stores) with good success. Better would be 3M "Dual Lock", a super-mega Velcro-like product that hooks together with amazing power. It's the stuff MA gives us to stick our "FastLane" (EZ-Pass) transponders to the windshield.

I couldn't find Dual Lock at the bigbox home stores but did at a Brooks Pharmacy, oddly enough.

Plus one for velcro. Then a thin velcro strap going around it with two little attaching points on each side.

Stable as can be.
