WRONG!!! It wasn't black but, let's move on.

Marvin Gaye released the Classic: "I Heard it through the Grapevine" in 1968.

Who released it a year earlier? (No cheating, *******!) :)

I'll buzz myself since I looked it up. Wrong year. Hey, I was only 6, but I could have sworn I was 3. Next guess...
1968? Nope, that's when Mavin Gaye released it all right. It was winter and it was freakin' cold when it came out. I remember it like it was yesterday. The question is who released it a year earlier. You were six? I was thirteen and first year in high school. Ahhhhhh.... The memories! :D

My memory is too smokey to recall what happened in those dayz
Mine was too, Fred! But, I still have a few brain cells left. :)
Ok, It was Gladis Knight and the Pips. Excellent version but, Marin Gaye made it the Classic it is. Well,... If this is going to be an age thing I'll let someone else chime in. Oh!! Wait!! Howie! You're older than I am.. You must know! :D

Jorma Kaukonen & Paul Kantner
OK here is the next question, between Jorma and Paul who was the first to bang Grace Slick?

@ Fred - It was supposed to be a tricky question due to the 1st pressed USA cd was Bruce, but the first released USA cd was Billy.

I thought it would take longer than a few minutes, but I don't have the patience to wait for 27 days.

I now seem to like Don's version of the game. Who zoomed who first. 50/50 guess says Kantner.

Are we ready for another question *******?? (Ha ha I like that Majicmaker)

If so.......Who did Jimi Hendrix say was the best rock guitarist he ever saw??

Good one. Don't have a clue but, you have my complete attention now! :)

I remember seeing John Lennon get asked in an interview, who was his most influential songwriter.

He said: Smokey Robinson. Nearly fell out of my seat when I heard that. Totally agree but, still shocked me.

I'm sure it is someone from way out in left field.

You did say "Rock Guitarist" so that rules out some possibilities like BB King or Les Paul. I'm going to guess he's have said Chuck Berry.

Hope that you weren't looking for Phil Keaggy as the right answer.

Hendrix was talking about a guitarist with a name that nobody knows, it doesn't help that he deceased in '78. You would have to travel to Chicago Transit Authority to find out who this guy is.
