Finally got to see, feel, and sit on a '13.....bummer...i could not live having my package tilted and shoved into the tank at every stop...i realize i lack the huge standard american farkle belly to cushion the blow, as it were, but i wouldn't ride it to the corner store...i assume corbin, sargent, and others deal with this seat angle ?...its a deal breaker for me....and the fact i have to steal it and only ride it on my ranchito in mexico may be an issue...but i was bummed...thus a dream...usurped again....i asked the salesman about the seat, but he was unable to locate his smart phone and couldnt tell where we were anymore or what planet and hemisphere currently we occupied and walked away muttering crossly...i searched his desk hoping for drugs but alas, his affliction appeared a genetic anomaly.....is the seat adjustable for angle ?

FWIW yours is the first complaint I've seen about the seat slope. Maybe the seat was just installed wrong by the clueless dealer?

So are you whining about ergonomics on a bike you've never actually ridden or just wanting to let us all know you're in awesome physical shape, own a "ranchito" in Mexico and are smarter than your salesman ?

I'm thinking Fred got it. I bet the seat wasn't latched down or something. Their is barely any forward slope to the seat. This from a guy who sits close to the tank to start with.

i have a pretty high tolerance for seat burn and the oem fjr was the worst of any seat i ever tried.

i did not like the stock seat slope either, every stop I was shoved into the tank.

$500 for a sargent fixed that problem.

Thanks Fred, i'd be lost completely without you, ionbeam, fairlaner, and other old waiters, and i mean this with utmost love ! 20 valves, i must confess to the former...i jest about the rest, i'm poor, on social security, have had 10 heart attacks, and am on my 2nd pacer/deib... at 52...plus i have a needle ****...so there...thanks Bungie, i'll retry soon, and finally thanks Steve, i concur just sitting there still, and i have a Corbin for my 05, comfort is king ! I had a major problem with the seat slope on my 08 when the seat was in the high position, no problem at all in the low position. The S10 uses the same 2 position system but almost everyone has had a problem with the seat slope when the S10 seat is in the low position.

When I test rode the 13 FJR the seat was in the low position and I told the salesman to keep it there...no problem with the seat slope in the low position.

I suspect any problem with the seat slope will probably go away once the seat is fully broken in and the foam starts to break down.

No front seat slope on my 2008 in the low position.

As far as stock seat comfort it's the best stock seat I've had on ANY motorcycle and I've owned a few.

Is it great? No, but it's far from bad "compared" to other stock seats.
