Hey all, after research and getting the feed back on the Forum, I took the plunge and ordered the MV Riser Plate. Ordered Sat pm -it was on my work bench Thurs afternoon. I installed it on Friday and Yaaah Baby! This is a fine piece of German engineering, very nice! A little patience and a few tools and your good to go. The directions are pretty good, they sent me English as well as German. The only thing different I had to do is clip 2 zip ties on the left side to release cable lines, plenty of slack to let you bring the bars forward after you do that. Hey, this is a really nice Farkle- a tad pricey, but well worth it, I doubt anyone would be disappointed with this one.
:clapping: :yahoo: ;) :)

The only issue I have with the riser's is to raise the tank you need to remove the tanks lower bolt to get the upper tank bracket pass the risers.

Just ordered mine, hopefully I'll be able to mount and test next sunday. (working 6-12's right now, not much time for anything.)

One question, I currently have a set of el-cheapo risers the previous owner installed. I'm going out on a limb and guessing I may have to buy some hardware, since the stock bar mounting bolts are missing?

Next one, anyone tried keeping their risers on with this plate? If not I guess I'll be the tester for this, I might give it a shot depending how it looks.

My comfort issue is with shoulder pain, and I know I'm close to having it right. I used to have a Sargent seat, and with the seat at the lowest setting and with me hugging the tank my shoulders did pretty well. I switched to a russell which moved me up and back a bit, apparently just enough to cause problems. Russell said they can move the pocket some, but much more forward and I'm going to have ground touching issues with the wings. I figure I'll try this next sunday, and if it's still not right I'll have them adjust the seat a bit more.

Riding to work is currently a choice between sore butt and sore shoulders, hopefully I can stop making that choice. It's a bit over an hour one way, so not too long before soreness hits.

I ordered Friday 8-24 , I got it today, I installed tonight and will take it for a ride tomorrow, just sitting on the bike it feels a lot better. :yahoo:
Great!!

I have the bars rotated forward a few deg as you can see by the lines under the bars, I really like the neutral feel of this position. my hands and wrist is inline with my forearms and I feel I have better control of the bike.
I have been playing around with mine. I started with the most swept back position - found my throttle hand still falling asleep. I adjusted them a bit forward, as you did - seems to work better for me.

This part is a terrific improvement, great high quality product! I have had some difficulties with MV service though. One of the black plastic bolt covers that was sent to me was too small. I emailed MV, and they sent another - however this was not shipped like the original parcel (received in 3 days). It has been around 4 weeks, and I have not received the part. I emailed MV - and was told that they sent it but could not track it once it entered USA. I again emailed them, requested further help with this - no reply. Anone know where to get these bolt covers, or something else that would work?

I am surprised about this!!They have a very good customer service!!Write to them again and let them know you are a member in USA fjr forum and many many fjr riders they bought these handlebar adapter plates when they looked these in the posts.

First i post these handlebar adapter plates in this forum because they liked to me,and i told,i can help many with this issue. When i listen about like your issue (not correct covers)and their customer service they don't help you a lot and i don't know why i don't feel very well..Please email them one more time and tell them to solve your problem.I believe they will send you the right cover!

Ps.Which plastic bolt cover is wrong? The big one?or the small one?

Try heating it lightly from the underside in order to soften the plastic, then work it onto the mounting nut. Just be careful not to get the heat source too close to the plastic- it will ignite.

Those that came with mine were too small as well. I also emailed them and received the correct caps after a few weeks.

However, if it has been 4 or 5 weeks, perhaps Mihalis fjr has a contact? I wouldn't think it has taken that long unless the package was lost. Mihalis fjr, the caps are those just forward of / above the bases of the bars. They almost look like nuts themselves as they're formed to cover exposed nuts.

Rick B, if the smaller cap he received is like those I received it is way too small to heat and stretch. Good idea, tho.

In the firstly MV adapter plates earthrooster, these caps was too loose..The MV improve these caps but now i listen they are too tight..Probably they must redesign these caps...

Perhaps the package for 'ajay423' have been lost...

THanks for the replies. I will give it another week, and if it hasn't arrived, I will email again. They only sent me one big one, not two as required.

I read the post about the caps not fiting and requested thet they send me an extra set with my order.

I received an email from MV Motorrad that they will send me another pair of caps. They were apologetic for the problem. Hopefully, they will arrive soon.

I got them today. MV Motorrad sent two - right size - all is good!

Anybody put one of these on their Gen1? I'm about to. Ordered the unit with the thermometer in it. I currently have Heli risers and the angle of the bars doesn't seem to be fit for a human wrist. Hopefully the MV unit will clear that up. Once I get it installed I guess I'll have to stop being a computer 'tard and figger out how to post a photo!

Be glad to, Mihalis. I'm curious to see if they send the correct nut and bolt covers. BTW, you're the one that brought this product to my attention and I thank you.
